In this episode, we talk about how marriages aren’t always 50/50. We are made to believe that marriages should be perfectly equal. Each partner should put the same amount of effort into the relationship. While that is good to strive for, it is heavily unrealistic to be 50/50 at all times. There can even be years of a relationship where it seems one partner is making way more effort than the other. Laura and I discussed times when our relationship was not 50/50 and how we got through those times with patience and communication.

It is important to know what causes this. It is common for both members of the relationship to go through rough patches in their lives. It could be due to their job, physical health, or something's up with their family. In those times, you have to be there for your partner, supporting them, and picking up the slack while not making a huge deal out of it. Relationships are a balancing act. While it could be a little frustrating to have to pick up the slack and put in more effort while your spouse is in a rough patch, you should feel confident that when something happens to you, they'll be there to pick up the slack for you. Listen to this episode to hear from Laura and me about times when we both had to step up for each other and how we got through those frustrating times.
