Drayton Leads Fundraising in Cobb Superior Court Clerk Race

In the closely watched race for Cobb Superior Court Clerk, an exciting fundraising battle unfolds as primary challenger Democrat Brunessa Drayton takes a significant lead in campaign donations over Democratic incumbent Connie Taylor. Drayton, a former aide to U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff, has amassed $31,605, nearly doubling Taylor's funds. Expressing gratitude, Drayton noted, "It is clear that the public has confidence in me to bring the needed change to the Clerk’s office." Her campaign attracted support from notable figures such as state Rep. Terry Cummings and Austell Police Chief Scott Hamilton, with contributions streaming in from across the country.

Meanwhile, Taylor's campaign, buoyed by contributions from former Gov. Roy Barnes’ law firm and other local luminaries, has raised close to $17,000. The Democratic primary, set for Tuesday, May 21, promises to be a key contest, with candidates grappling over who can best serve Cobb's citizens in the vital role of Court Clerk.
