Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. The great and powerful Silenoz of Dimmu Borgir makes his first appearance on Into The Necrosphere to discuss the band’s triumphant performance at this year’s Inferno Festival. He also walks me through the complexity of recording with large orchestras, shares his reflections on a career spanning over three decades and much more.
On my weekly news rant, new singles by the likes of Darkened, Crypt Sermon, Orange Goblin, Vulvodynia, Cryptic Hatred and more are rounded up for judgment. There’s also another preview of the crushing and upcoming Werewolves album, “Die For Us”, and Obsidian Shrine return to the upper echelons of the underground as they step into my Independant Band Spotlight.
