Street Medic Lawless Healthcare | Displaced Persons Index, New Caledonia, Catalan Elections - Ep. 046
Manage episode 421177493 series 3506227
This episode, we host Sonja, an activist, organiser, and anarchist based out of Oklahoma. Sonja explains how to organise, how to work as a street medic, and more!
Before the interview we cover some headlines, due to a delay on the production of Let Them Eat Cakes this week is more of a May news wrap so, in the wrap, we cover the Catalan elections, Georgian anti-government protests, French colonialism tightening on New Caledonia, Israeli movements in Gaza (unfortunately we recorded before Israel dropped bombs on civilian refugee tent camps), Shoigu’s replacement, Chadian elections, and North Macedonia.
The main chunk of the news segment will be covering the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centres new index tracking Internally Displaced Persons for the year of 2023. A very number heavy segment but something we believe is very important to highlight, especially Sudan and the Congo.
In the bulk of the episode we go deep into organising, life working as a volunteer street media, how to prepare yourself and Chaya Raichik’s ascension to education board for Oklahoma despite her career as a real estate agent disqualifying her.
