Speaker: Trevor Dreher

We live in a world brimming with endless choices. Everyday, we face a relentless barrage of decisions, big and small: What should I eat? Should I go to the gym? How much should I be saving? The sheer volume of choices can be overwhelming and exhausting.

Many of us at Friends Church know this feeling all too well but the idea of learning from fundamentalism might seem surprising, even off-putting. What could we possibly gain from such a rigid framework? But if we set aside the religious aspects, we can see that people in fundamentalist communities often experience a profound sense of peace and contentment. What if we could harness that peace without embracing the religious dogma?

This Sunday, we will explore how adopting certain principles from fundamentalism—such as simplicity and intentional limitations—can help us find tranquility in our modern, choice-saturated lives. Join us as we discuss how to reclaim a sense of peace and calm by embracing the power of simplicity.
