This is a Spotlight on the Scriptures. Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Of all things to be known, the most important is that God is to be feared and served, and those who do not know this, do not have basic knowledge, I don’t care how many degrees you may have. True knowledge is to perceive the right nature of a thing. The fear of the Lord is knowledge all wrapped up. In other words, all true wisdom and knowledge is rooted in God and his Word, and Proverbs urges us to cultivate a fear of God, through a relationship with him.

Listen fools are self-centered people who live without regard to wisdom and moral values. As we look around, fools are everywhere. All fool rejects God’s perspective and substitutes his own. In Ephesians 1:17, the apostle Paul prayed for the Christians in Ephesus that God would give them a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, in other words being wise means knowing and fearing God.

Wisdom requires knowledge and understanding. Just like it takes both a man and a woman to come together and form a new baby when knowledge gets married to understanding, it has a baby, and that baby is called wisdom. When knowledge, which is the true nature of a thing, meets understanding, which is the enlightened purpose of that truth, a baby is born and it is called wisdom.
