- 先日会社の役員トーク的なやつのテーマだった
- 概念としては知ってたけど改めて
- AWSのコストを25%ほど削減した話（現職なのであまり具体的な話はしません）
- 現在のjob titleはSRE
- できればインフラ方面からコスト削減したかったが、結局はコードだった
- 無駄な通信、無駄なクエリ、バグによる無駄な外部API呼び出し
- 長年AWSを見てきた経験からコストバランスがおかしいと思われるところにあたりをつけて調べていった
- やたら外部APIの呼び出しエラーが多い
- → 呼び出す条件のIF文が 否定をORでつなぐようなわかりづらさで、よーく見てみたら条件が誤っていた
- EC2 Otherのコストが高い。VPC内の通信が高い。実は不要なデータを大量にdocumentDBから取得していてそのlatestな1件だけを使用していた。（動作には問題はないが、コスト的には超問題）
- やたら外部APIの呼び出しエラーが多い
- 長年AWSを見てきた経験からコストバランスがおかしいと思われるところにあたりをつけて調べていった
- 無駄な通信、無駄なクエリ、バグによる無駄な外部API呼び出し
- 結果コストが下がったうえにシステムの安定性が増して、SREとして仕事した感じ
