In this special episode, we are thrilled to revisit a familiar face in the world of lighting design. Dr. Shelley James, with over two decades of experience and expertise in the industry, she graced our previous episode as part of the Lighting Heroes Series.
This time, we had the honour of capturing Shelley delivering a keynote presentation at this year’s Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE) back in June 2023 in China. Her talk was titled: "Drivers for Change: Shifting the Conversation from Cost to Value". A great listen.
A Bit About Dr. Shelley James
As a passionate designer, researcher, and educator, Shelley has left an indelible mark on the field of lighting design, with her innovative work showcased on global platforms such as the London 2012 Olympic Games and the iconic Shard in London.
Her innovative approach to lighting has earned her many accolades and recognition, including the Lighting Designer of the Year award from the Lighting Design Awards in 2015. Dr James is also a passionate advocate for sustainability and the environment.
