The European Union is imposing significant tariffs on electric vehicles coming from China—with the rule taking effect this Friday. Meanwhile, Beijing is formulating trade rules against some key European exports in retaliation. The two sides are expected to hold talks amid the trade war.
Reports have emerged of Chinese authorities quietly shutting down some sellers of fentanyl precursors. Washington has been urging Beijing to do its part in curtailing the U.S. opioid epidemic.
