A quick devotional about our ability to love others by Linda Goldfarb to encourage your day and inspire your walk with God. Let's Journey Together and spend a Moment with Father.

I’m Linda Goldfarb, and I want to encourage and inspire your walk with the Lord. For more encouragement, please visit LindaGoldfarb.com. I’m so glad you’re here.

What decision have you made about Love?

God tells us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love others as we love ourselves. Yet, many of us struggle with the emotions of love.

  • "How am I supposed to love someone who hurt me?"
  • "No one loves me that way, so I can't love others like that either."
  • "I want to love others. I just don't know how."

Based on emotions alone, our thoughts concerning love are valid.

Yet, we read in 1 John 4:8, “Anyone who does not love does not know God because God is Love.”

Is our ability to love others impossible?

Not at all. Because we are more than our emotions.
Love… is more. So much more.

When we embrace love as a child of God, we discover the Holy Spirit’s power within us. His power, His love, helps us love others in spite of our feelings.

Truly, Love is a gift from God.
A gift of extreme power.
So, what am I doing with it?

Each morning, I get up and face the choices of my day.

Today, I'll decide to —

  • Calendar events
  • Schedule meals for the week
  • Plan family time
  • Plan a vacation

What about the decision to love others? Whoa.

I can do this, help me Lord, "This day I choose to love others” —period.

How about you?

Let’s journey together

Oh, Lord, empower me with Your love. Guide my heart to be led by Your Spirit. I choose this day to lean into You. I choose to be a vessel of Your love. Remove distractions. Open opportunities. Give me supernatural strength to love others as You do. To Your glory and honor. Hallelujah.

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22

May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.
