Growth Instigators Hotline

Pack it up pack it in, let me begin, I came to battle and for me that’s a sin.

I came to get down, I came to get down

Now get out your seat and jump around… jump around

Thank you “House of Pain”… in a round about way

Thank you for calling GIH where we instigate growth one call at a time where we utilize antiquated technology to deliver 3-minute leadership lessons every day of the week! This is message #100 and I am Aaron Havens. This message especially goes out to Shannon from Florida

The real lyrics… misquoting them my whole life…

Pack it up pack it in, I came to win, battle me, that’s a sin.

I came to get down, I came to get down

I won't ever slack up, punk, ya better back up

Try and play the role and yo, the whole crew'll act up

Copy cut and paste.

Morph it all together.

Embellish, add color

And as Shannon my prolific & profoundly talented artist friend from Florida says.

“Not mistakes, just room for embellishment.”

Oooh I like that!

Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

My friends! What does this give? Freedom to play. Room for embellishment. Your “mistakes” are not new. You discoveries are built on 1000’s of discoveries that came before you. Take the words and mash them up. Take the concept and shake it up. Take the same thing re-arrage it, play with it… put it in a new context and watch fresh NEW things happen. This is freedom. Can you feel it? I’m often asked how I come up with topics for the Hotline. My answer is simple. Just be aware. Listen to what is being said. Pay attention to the intonation and reverberation of the world around you… try to make sense of what is in the cosmos… put your spin on it… your heart on it… your take on it… and BOOM… that’s it. No AI can ever do that. Logos is the Word. Pathos is the passion. And Ethos is permission to speak. So take what you know, passionately live it out and put your twist on it to make you, your people and world around you better.

AND if you end up misquoting a song along the way… you might like your version better anyways… just don’t try and take credit for it. Honor the achievements and ideas of those that came before us… and then rock out your fresh new version.

Thanks for calling in today. Tune in tomorrow for the weekend edition of the GIH. After 100 topics I’d like to know which topics have stood out to you the most. I’d also like to know why it is you call it. Have you shared the Hotline number with people in your circle? AND… do you take the topic, twist it up and make it your own?

GIH #100 and for a fresh new topic! After the beep I’d love to hear from you! Is there anything in your life today that you can say is adding little or no value? Are you willing to consider a pivot from that?
