We live in extraordinary times as Christ-followers.
Not that there hasn't been chaos and antagonism or being marginalized for holding to scriptural truth. People of the Way have always been a minority. As C.S. Lewis noted, we are in..."Enemy-occupied territory---that is what this world is. Christianity is the story of how the rightful king has landed, you might say landed in disguise, and is calling us to take part in a great campaign of sabotage.”
What is new, and is one of the central themes in local author and influencer Leigh Sloan's new book Pride and Privilege is that words and their meanings have changed.
The book's title is in fact a play on words that in today's context, mean something far different than in another era not that long ago.
Leigh gives sound advice on what it means to put on the "glove of cultivation" in terms of how we engage with those around us with different realities, different assumptions, even different vocabularies.
We are each placed in a particular place at a particular time to engage with particular people. Are we doing more than complaining ?
Leigh has provided clarity for those of us who really want to be salt and light as Jesus asks. I'm honored to call her a friend and grateful she's on the show today.
