It was a big weekend for Toronto Blue Jays baseball. The MLB draft took place on Sunday, July 14th as the Toronto Blue Jays selected two pitchers with their first and second round picks. Trey Yesavage, is a 20-year-old right-handed pitcher out of East Carolina. With their second pick, the Blue Jays selected 21-year-old right-handed pitcher Khal Stephen out of Mississippi State. Trey Yesavage was the 11th ranked prospect in the draft, while Khal Stephen was the 88th ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. Were these the right picks for the future of the Toronto Blue Jays? The Blue Jays had a series over the weekend against the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Blue Jays looked to win their third series in a row. Unfortunately, they lost two out of three games, heading into the all-star break eight games under .500.
