Journalist Jeremy Loffredo travels to the Dheishe Refugee Camp in the occupied Palestinian West Bank to meet Rawda Abu Ajamieh, a woman who was jailed for her activism, and released in exchange for Israeli captives as part of the December 2023 prisoner swap between Hamas and Israel. Ajamieh describes the harrowing conditions prisoners experienced after October 7, when their Israeli jailers embarked on a revenge spree of beatings and sadistic punishments, and the jubilation of experiencing freedom.
Loffredo also speaks to Tala Nasser of the Addameer Prisoner Support NGO, which has been blacklisted by the Israeli government as a "terrorist organization." Nasser details testimony collected by Addameer of horrific abuses, including sexual assault, by Israeli prison authorities.
