Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. On the show this time, it’s the immaculately tailored imagery of Heartworms.
Heartworms is the band project of London singer-songwriter Jojo Orme. She named it after one of her favorite bands - the Shins - 2017 album of the same name. The sound is threatening, dark, gothic even. Her lyrics walk a tightrope, beautifully balanced betwixt concrete imagery and abstract entendre. And she’s got a voice worthy of the poetry, dynamically moving from breathy whisper, to truly alarming shout. Her EP 'A Comforting Notion' is available on Speedy Wunderground Records.
