Rex Heuermann is a suspect in the Gilgo Beach serial killings, where multiple women were found murdered on Long Island. Heuermann, a 60-year-old architect, has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include the murders of several women found along the remote beach highway.
Attorney John Ray, who represents the families of some victims, has been vocal about the case. Ray has made several claims, including suggesting that Heuermann's daughter, Victoria, may have been involved or at least aware of the murders. He presented graphic images from a Tumblr account he claims belonged to Victoria, which depicted scenes of torture and cannibalism similar to how the victims were found. These claims have been met with strong criticism from the defense, including attorneys representing Heuermann's family, who argue there is no substantial evidence linking Victoria to the crimes. They emphasize that she was not born at the time of some of the earliest murders and was out of town during others.
Ray has also introduced new witness testimonies that allegedly connect Heuermann to additional victims, further complicating the case and drawing more attention to the ongoing investigation​.
