Hi Friends, Chris Barron of the Spin Doctors kindly spoke to Josh about a variety of different topics: being an 'Influencer', Cats on Twitter, New York during lockdown, getting older, the perfect snare sound, reading and writing. Enjoy and then go check out his music!
Chris Barron is the lead singer for The Spin Doctors. Active as a band since the late 1980’s, The Spin Doctors gained international notice with their debut studio album Pocket Full of Kryptonite, released in August 1991.

In early 1999, Barron lost his voice due to a rare form of vocal cord paralysis and was’t sure he would ever be able to talk again. His voice returned in early 2000 at which point he began performing again. During this time, he also began writing songs for other performers. He released a solo album called Shag in 2001.

Spin Doctors remained inactive as a band until September 2001, when the original line-up took the stage for the first time since 1994 to play at the closing of legendary New York club Wetlands. They have been active ever since.

In 2009, he put out a solo album called Pancho and the Kid, and followed it with an EP called Songs from the Summer of Sangria.

In 2017, Barron released Angels and One Armed Jugglers to positive reviews including from Josh, who really enjoys it.
