The space race between the US and Russia in the 50s and 60s was a big deal. At times, our landing on the moon seems like it happened a lifetime ago, but at other times, it feels like it was yesterday. Getting to the moon was a considerable priority, but many lost interest shortly after we arrived in 1969. Within less than a decade, the public moved on. But now, roughly 50 years later, our country is again interested in space travel. With all of our technological advances, it should be quick and easy to get back into the space race.
