Colorectal cancer in young adults is on the rise — now, scientists are examining how diets high in fat and low in fiber can spur changes in the digestive system that raise the risk for early-onset colorectal cancer. In the headlines on #TheUpdate this Tuesday, The Big Apple is ablazin’. A heat wave is set to grip the New York area this week as temperatures soar — with real-feel temps expected to top 100 degrees today, meteorologists said. Gov. Hochul kicked off a “listening tour” on how to combat harmful smartphone use in schools as she mulls a statewide ban on kids having the devices in class. And in our continuing coverage of the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, there are still so many unanswered questions. At The Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, they officially nominated JD Vance as the party’s candidate for vice president, while in Pennsylvania, signs of trouble were evident in the minutes before shots rang out at Donald Trump’s rally. Police had a report of a suspicious man pacing near the magnetometers and were apparently exchanging photos of the suspect. Witnesses pointed and shouted at an armed man on a nearby roof. When a police officer climbed up to the roof to investigate, the gunman turned and pointed his rifle at him. But the officer did not — or could not — fire a single shot.
