The Democratic Party had launched a weeks-long pressure campaign to convince the President to drop off the 2024 ticket, with donations drying up and reports showing his GOP rival surging ahead in the polls. Now, Harris must immediately begin campaigning, fundraising, and selecting a VP of her own.
