These days, Nimbin stands as a symbol of hippie culture in Australia. But back in the early 70s, it was something else entirely: a small dairy town with a few hundred residents.

Then, in 1973, the town played host to the Aquarius festival—a ten day event that attracted thousands of students, hippies, and counterculture figures from across the country—and changed the town forever. Wendy Champagne shares the story that she documented in a new film, Aquarius.
