About Shawntay Harris
I am an emergency nurse entrepreneur who created a business to support the educational needs of nurses. I have trained over 300,000 nurses worldwide, transforming nurses from bedside to C-suite into strong leaders of the future. I have made substantial and enduring contributions under the pillars of leadership and education.
Enduring Contributions
My professional platform is focused on leadership and influencing nurses through my involvement in developing members of critically diverse workforces based on characteristics, needs, and abilities rather than a predetermined agenda. I create opportunities for others to join in educating nurses while strengthening their leadership skills. With an extensive background in healthcare administration and nursing education, I have decoded certain principles of leadership development education and created a step-by-step process to promote the success of emerging leaders. My substantial contributions to our nurse colleagues consist of propelling nursing forward through adaptive educational approaches, outreach, accessibility, and transparency, which are included in my curriculum vitae.
My membership as a nurse in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated allows me to collaborate, inspire, and lead on healthcare-related issues for underserved populations. I have encouraged 1000+ non-traditional students to seek nursing degrees and have spent decades mentoring nurses and emerging leaders.
My background in emergency nursing interconnected with an entrepreneurial spirit, led to the development of my business, Eminent Healthcare Resources Consultants, Incorporated, 17 years ago. I have trained nurses in the United States and internationally. I began with American Heart Association classes and added legal nurse consulting, leadership education, and emergency nursing courses.
Nursing must produce leaders from the bedside to the boardroom, and I have focused my effort on ensuring nurses are prepared to assume leadership roles. I have developed content that unpins professional behaviors of clinical excellence and exemplary leadership that enables healthcare professionals to provide safe patient care. The American Nurses Credentialing Center has approved my review courses for continuing education, which have excellent outcomes.
I have prepared 3000+ nurse executives to sit for leadership board certifications and 3000+ clinical leaders. I have developed review courses for the Nurse Executive Advanced, Nurse Executive, and Certified Nurse Manager and Leader board certifications. I have also developed review courses for the Certified Emergency Nurse, Trauma Certified Registered Nurse, and Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse board certifications.
I have trained over 1,000 students per year in the last three years in the Trauma Nursing Core Course and the Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course. I expanded my virtual platform to meet the educational crisis experienced by nurses. I have identified seventy-five instructor potentials. I have taught over 100 instructor courses and trained hundreds of instructors. A most fulfilling leadership activity is mentoring course directors to further the advancement of the Emergency Nurses Association courses and ensure that nurses have access to current education. I have mentored 40+ nurses through the course director process and encouraged them to become faculty. Through this process, I have developed long-term relationships and encouraged each person to strive higher. I have mentored four emergency nurse course directors in nurse entrepreneurship. I am committed to international education and have mentored course directors for ENA courses from Africa, Canada, Ukraine, and the military.

I have a strong presence on Facebook and Instagram. My broad social media influence is that I have been a moderator for the Facebook group Black Nurses Rock, which has 202,000 members. I use this platform to disseminate information to a community of nurses who might need access to scholarships, research opportunities, and networking events. I have used social media platforms to reach and support historically excluded nurses. The contributions I have made in nursing are substantial and enduring.
