The pads were popping at Monday’s Chargers training camp practice and all eyes were on fifth overall pick Joe Alt going one-on-one against Joey Bosa. On day one of pads it was Bosa who won the reps but Alt proved throughout practice that there is a learning curve, but he absolutely belongs. David Droegemeier is joined by the Athletic’s Daniel Popper about Monday’s physical padded practice including a fully live rep where the Chargers tackling to the ground. The guys also talk about Quentin Johnston, who had a big drop at practice, but stayed well afterwards putting in work. Linebacker Daiyan Henley has had a strong offseason and Popper thinks he is line for a big role on the defense, while rookie Junior Colson may be a ways away.
