In this episode, I show my process for building a custom writing desk. The desk is made from American cherry, and the sides and drawer pulls are accented with ambrosia maple. The drawer pulls also have a walnut accent.

The video starts by fabricating the legs, which have an elegant curve. I always find it best to cut the joinery in the legs before cutting the curves, so before cutting the curve, I first cut all the mortise and tenon joints. The ambrosia side panel is attached to the rails with a tenon that seats into a slot. The top has beveled detail added to the underside to give it a lighter appearance.
