Hour 1 - Falcons will learn a lot about themselves during joint practices with Dolphins

On this Monday edition of The Morning Shift, Niki Noto Palmer, filling in for Tiffany Blackmon, Mike Johnson, and Beau Morgan, kicks off the show by recapping their weekends, talking about their biggest takeaways from the Falcons’ open practice at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Friday, and what they expect from the Falcons first preseason game on Friday. Next, The Morning Shift crew continues the opening hour by briefly talking about the Olympic action that’s already gotten kicked off this morning in Paris, and why bringing your kids to another kids’ birthday party is actually a nice thing for parents. Niki, Mike, and Beau close out the segment by reacting to the Atlanta Braves having to settle for a series split against the Miami Marlins after winning the first two games as they lose 4-3 win on Saturday and lose 7-0 win yesterday. Niki, Beau, and Mike also discuss if Max Fried came back too early after Fried made his first start since July 11 after he felt discomfort in his forearm prior to his one-inning appearance in the All-Star Game on July 16 and was placed on the injured list July 21. The Morning Shift crew also talks about Eddie Rosario, and how he’s been struggling at the plate and in the field lately. Finally, to close out the opening hour Niki, Mike and Beau talk about Mike and Beau getting to ride along in stock cars at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Then, The Morning Shift crew recaps what was a great Sunday for the United States in the Olympics after Noah Lyles wins gold for U.S. in 100m by 0.005 of a second, Trinity Rodman helping the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team beat Japan 1-0 and reach the semi-finals, Scottie Scheffler winning Olympic golf gold with final-round 62, Team USA women's basketball team beating Germany 87-68 to win their group, and the U.S. women’s swimming team crushing the world record on their way to winning the 4x100 medley relay and topping Australia in the swimming medal table.
