The show is explained.
Mike Skill of The Romantics is introduced as our guest.
We Get A Few Things Out Of The Way:
1. Mattel decides that Scrabble needs to be the "New Coke" of board games.
2. I'm forced to introduce "Pronunciation Nation" as a segment for people getting too cute with the language and butchering words. Today's word victim: "Diversity"
We do a plug for Dynamic Dairy Products.
We then go deep with Mike Skill, original member, lead guitarist, and songwriter of The Romantics. We talk about creating and writing hits, on growing up in the 50's, 60's and 70's in the American melting pot of music - Detroit. We go into being in a band, touring in the heyday of rock, punk and new wave, what makes a great song, into what's the current state of The Romantics and The Mike Skill Band, and more.
This is a long one, Weirdos - Lefsetz-type long. But worth it for fellow music nerds.
We finish with Disclaimers.*
*Because footnotes just don't work in audio. Work with me here.
A bit about Mike, from Mike:
I created a band consisting of Brad Elvis, drummer of The Romantics, Ricky Rat and Brian McCarty of The Trash Brats and special guests join me on stage such as Rich Cole, Johnny Evans on Sax, Danny Schauffler of "The Crazy 8's", Sax, Harp and keyboards. Kerry Movassagh, bass (Tommy Tutone), Kevin Rankin of "A Flock of Seagulls".

My set includes the hits I wrote for The Romantics such as "Talking In Your Sleep", "Rock You Up", "What I Like About You" and more.....including a few songs off my highly acclaimed music releases.
