I'm out on one of my woodland permissions today, where they do pheasant shooting. In all honesty, I've not timed my visit well. It's approaching midday and quite hot, so I'm not expecting much quarry movement. Still, time spent out on your permission is never time wasted—unless you're trying to sunbathe in camo. What I'm going to aim to do today is wander around the woodland and check some of the hot spots where I would expect quarry to be moving if I had timed it right. Maybe I'll get lucky.
