Factual Data and Stories that Provide Experience and Understanding of CRT Summary Points of the Podcast:

I decided to go to videos so I could possibly connect more with each of you that would be willing to follow me on this journey of addressing Hot Topics Bold Talk. You will find facts and stories that show you what is happening in our country. I will admit that I had not studied Critical Race Theory (CRT) like I needed to. I can clearly see what Trump and MAGA Republicans are doing to take actions to avoid the discussions of race and racism, gender and sexism, LGBTQ+ and heterosexism, etc. I have a much clearer picture of what has happened to us in America and how republicans that support Trump are doing everything they can to turn back racial progress.

I think it is amazing how many Americans cannot separate their individual identity as Americans from the social institutions that govern us—these people see themselves as the system. The tragedy is they interpret calling social institutions racist as calling them racist personally. Sadly, they have brought into their false narrative that the U.S. is an equitable democracy. You and I know that America is still not great for everyone.

What has been the impact of the efforts to roll back racial progress? Become disturbed by these actions and realize that this is a horrible idea and does injustice to our kids. Teachers not being able to talk about race/racism, and gender/sexism puts a chilling effect on what educators are willing to discuss in the classroom and provide cover for those who are not comfortable hearing or telling the truth about the history and state of race relations in the U.S.

As you have a better understanding of Critical Race Theory (CRT), you will be able to identify the distortions and uses of the CRT. One of the resources I use in this podcast will show you how the opponents’ narratives about CRT are a gross exaggeration of the theoretical framework.

I decided to take podcast 49 from last week and make a video of it. (You can watch it on Spotify HERE.) You will find other facts from scholars and legal experts about what Critical Race Theory Is. This podcast also gives part of the history and the basis of fear that is being used by the republican party to create their base of white people that fear the changes that have been happening in our country. Be assured that what you have seen or read about since the civil rights movement was an effort to bring forth CRT theorist ideas to have a country that supports a greater society and one that is the best for all Americans.

I invite you to answer the polling questions and let me know how you feel about what I am presenting. Let me know if there are other subjects you would like me to address with my podcast Hot Topic Bold Talk.
