New documents signed as part of the $368 billion AUKUS treaty have been tabled in parliament which show Australia agreed to indemnify the UK and the US against costs or damage arising from nuclear safety risks. The documents also reveal exit clauses which would allow both the US and UK to withdraw from the deal with little notice and no compensation.
