Main idea: In Psalm 143, we see a simple strategy for suffering so that as God’s servants we will know how to entrust our soul to God and seek his deliverance, guidance, and glory.

  1. Plead (vv. 1-4)

    a. What you should plead (v. 1)

    b. How you should plead

    i. On the basis of his character (v. 1)

    ii. With brokenness and contrition (v. 2)

    iii. On behalf of your condition (vv. 3-4)

  2. Ponder (v. 5)

  3. Pray (vv. 6-10)

    a. The posture (v. 6)

    b. The petitions (vv.7-10)

    i. Deliver me! (vv. 7, 9)

    ii. Lead me! (vv. 8, 10)

    c. The persuasion (vv.7 , 8, 9, 10)

  4. Predict (vv. 10-12)

    a. You will …

    ii. Deliver me (v. 11)

    iii. Destroy my adversaries (v. 12)
