David Wanje was born in Kenya in small town with about 100,000 people about 10 miles off the coast of the Indian Ocean. David loves the beach and spending time at the ocean even to this day. The town he grew up in had a very strong Arab influence being so close to the port that's how everything was imported into Kenya so many of the people were muslim in their faith. David W. was the youngest of 8 brothers and sisters with 5 brothers and 3 sisters, losing one of his sisters while they were younger. Wanje fathers side of the family was very strong in practicing witch craft through dark magic and they didn't visit that side of the family when the kids were younger. David's fathers name was Morris Wanje and he was actually the first baptist convert in Kenya. While Wanje's father was working for the Kenyan government as an accountant, a baptist missionary came to Kenya to spread the Gospel and needed a translator who spoke both Swahili and English and wouldn't you know that David's father Morris was the only man in town that spoke English and could translate for him. Morris was not even a believer at the time but after work he would get off and go and translate for the missionary and ended up getting saved while translating for the baptist missionary. Morris was making really good money working for the government but once he got saved, he dropped it all and moved to Tanzania for Bible school and followed the call of God on his life, which was the best choice he ever made for his family. By the time David was born, Wanje's father was traveling all over the world and starting church's as the President of the Baptist church in Kenya, Morris started to build and strengthen relationships within the "bride of Christ" around the world. When Morris passed away in 2014, over 3000 people came from all over the world to show support and honor the man of God for living a life worthy of the call of God and impacting many people and nations along the way. By Morris accepting the call of God on his life, it has led to many of the Wanje family being believers and even some ministers of the Gospel, and his kids and grandkids now serving the Lord in the house of God all over the world. You never know what a "YES" to Jesus will do for you or your future family and the generations to come behind you. When David was younger it was very difficult for him because a lot of his friends were not allowed to hang out with him. David felt his father was very strict and didn't let him enjoy the days of his youth, but David's father was just trying to protect him from all the trouble and chaos that many of those kids ended up getting into later in life. David started playing music at a very young age, it was actually one of his escapes in life that he loves to do. When David was around 16 or 17 his dad gave him an ultimatum to either stop playing music and making money at the tourist hotels or MOVE OUT on his own and begin living his own life, which is what David ended up choosing to do. He moved to the city of Mombasa, Kenya a city of over 800,000 people and began playing piano at all the big up scale tourist hotels making really good money as a young man. For years David never saw his father while he did his own thing in life. Listen at how David ended up coming to America, meeting his future wife and starting a family, and now being planted in Arizona and serving the Lord while his family is doing the same. Listen and be encouraged in your faith today!!! JESUS LOVES YOU
