When broadcaster and writer Adrian Chiles revealed in his weekly Guardian column that he'd installed a urinal in his bathroom, it sparked a nationwide debate.

Even Adrian was surprised by the reaction, as were urinal manufacturers, who reported a sudden spike in sales.
