Today we’re focussing in on Pyaasa by Anusree Roy playing at Theatre Passe Muraille just until March 27th. Pyaasa is a 50th anniversary celebration play. Leading up to the 50th anniversary of TPM we’re bringing back one play per season from the body of work we’ve been putting out. This year we wanted to bring back Pyaasa, originally programmed at Theatre Passe Muraille in 2008. This is a live recording from Eggrolls with Andy. Eggrolls is a chance for Artistic Director, Andy McKim to chat with a local expert on some of the larger social themes related to the play at hand. In the case of Pyaasa, Andy sat down with Rahul Bhardwaj, to talk about caste, class, and social mobility.
