Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. Earl is both inventive, having pioneered highly specific bow techniques for playing drop tuned metal on his custom extended range Jordan electric violin, and highly creative, composing songs and pieces in many genres, including rock, metal, string quartet and even a violin concerto, which was premiered by Rachel Barton Pine! Earl's current projects include the experimental grindcore/metal duo Black Heart Sutra, and his new music/hardcore crossover string quartet SEVEN)SUNS, (sevensunsmusic.com) whose album, "For The Hearts Still Beating" was released on Party Smasher Inc. in June of 2017. The latest Black Heart Sutra album, "Zersetzung" is out now on Stillwater Recordings. He has been featured in The Strad, Strings Magazine, Vice, and Guitar World and has recorded, played and or collaborated with such varied artists and groups as Jay-Z, Florence+The Machine, Paul Weller of The Jam, Rhianna, Blood Has Been Shed, Albert Hammond Jr. of the Strokes, The Bill T.
