With two acquisitions to his name, five startups on the go and a list of investments, IT entrepreneur Geoff Rohrsheim has an unquenchable fire in the belly. Geoff is a former EY Entrepreneur of the Year winner for the southern region and had 3 start-ups appear in the BRW Fast 100. His company, Kloud Solutions grew rapidly in five years and was ranked the fastest growing company in Australia in 2014, before being acquired by Telstra in early 2016 for north of 40 million dollars. This was Geoff's second sale. His first company, Strategic Data Management, was also picked up for a multi-million dollar sum .. and he explains the fundamentals of planning for a successful exit. He tried retirement for a few months but got bored. Geoff is currently co-founder of five startups, all focused on emerging fields in tech, and explains how he keeps on top of the growing companies. Not bad for a bloke who finished high school having never touched a computer. Geoff comes from humble beginnings, he's one of six kids, and his siblings include an orthopaedic surgeon, navy pilot and the general manager of Uber Aus/NZ. Geoff shares insights into his high performing family, approaches to education and learning, risk and keeping the fire in the belly. Geoff was part our panel at the InDaily Business Index Event, which you can listen to in Episode 56, but this episode goes deeper into his fascinating story.
