Nanner Banter - Episode 2 (Season 1, Episode 5/5)
Manage episode 210799265 series 2370419
In this episode me, Andy Johnson (Nano Things) and Wimpz (Trading Discord Mod) grab some booze and sit together to talk about all things Nano. In this episode you can tell we are starting to learn each other’s rhythms as the conversation flows with a healthy dose of wit. Also, since we are operating in three different time-zones, we had the time wrong and Andy had already been drinking for an hour when we started. We had a lot of fun talking about Nano and it’s community. We didn’t always stay on topic, but there are definitely some good bits. We believe in the goal of the Nano core team: that Nano will become a global currency. My biggest take-away from this conversation is, how can we help make that happen.
Nanocast exists to educate people about the crypto-currency Nano. Led by a driven team, this fast, zero-fee and scalable digital currency has quickly inspired thousands to build a robust ecosystem of apps and services. Whether a crypto-enthusiast or a curious bystander, here you will get a glimpse of the exciting developments happening in and around Nano - the currency of the future.

Need to buy Nano, but don’t know what exchange to use? Binance is one of the largest exchanges in the world, has an easy to use interface and is more or less free from glitches. I have personally always had a great experience and would recommend it. If you want to use Binance and share some love, use my referral link!

There are two ways for the community to support the Nano network and in turn make it more secure and decentralized. The easiest way is to open/login to your Nano wallet and change your representative to a trusted rep. You can view information about nodes at nanonode.ninja and the Nano Node Monitor (if the owner has it configured).
The second and more difficult way to support the network is by setting up a node. Nodes help decentralize the voting that takes place on the Nano chain. You can learn more about that here: https://bit.ly/2qmEJoq
Setting up a node can be really easy and is relatively inexpensive. The first thing you will need to host a node is a server. This can be hosted locally or you can buy server space from a third party. I use Digital Ocean and so far have had a great experience. In addition there are lots of guides written with Digital Ocean in mind. Once you have your droplet you can follow this quick and easy guide: https://nanotools.github.io/easy-nano-node/digitalocean.html (If you have any questions about setting up nodes, Reddit and the Discord are great resources).
