Are we the real deal? Damn straight. Is Elias Pettersson the real deal? Maybe, but ask yourself this first: Since 1988, without looking, can you name the players the Canucks have drafted that provided top line offensive production in Vancouver? (hint - there's only 6, and Brock Boeser doesn't count yet)

We look at the start of the Canucks pre-season, and what the first game showed us. Should expectations be high? What players may already be on the hot seat? What are the burning questions to be answered over the next two weeks?

We also talk football! Week 2 of the NFL season is in the books, and the Seahawks are 0-2. What happened to their offence? Will the 13th man make a difference in their home opener, or is this just a below average team? We check out the other happenings around the league, including a mid-game retirement, unemployed kickers, and the Patriots attempt to rebuild another top notch receiver.

The BC Lions mix in as well, with their win in Montreal, but it came at a cost, as Travis Lulay once again goes down injured against the Alouettes. Should he just avoid playing them? Can Jonathan Jennings get the offence to produce, or is the defence going to carry the Leos to the post-season? All this plus our best and worst in Garbage Time!
