This week i'm coming to you with an Oscar's and movie themed episode! I invited movie critic, and writer Yolanda Machado to give us her take on the "Lady Bird" controversy. She wrote an article for Marie Claire titled, 'Lady Bird' Was Influenced by 'Real Women Have Curves' and No One Outside the Latinx Community Is Acknowledging It." The article was shared widely by people like Junot Diaz. We talk about the two films and why they are symptomatic of how Hollywood treats the stories of women of color. She also talks about how she got in the biz of writing about the biz, and her top films. Don't forget to rate, subscribe and review us on Itunes. Read her article here: https://www.marieclaire.com/culture/a15931477/lady-bird-real-women-have-curves/ Visit my site: Betsyaimee.com for more or follow me on Instagram @betsyaimeec
