Steven is an art Director, physical sculptor, digital sculptor, Paleo Artist, film technician and miniature effects artist based in Wellington New Zealand

He has been around Pal Tiya Premium right from the beginning, uses it professionally at Weta.

In this episode Steven shares:

  • How watching a film when he was 6 inspired him to begin creating

  • Having his mother believe in him created opportunities for his to explore his creative side

  • His happiest work that he did in his hometown was at the Natural History Museum in Cape Town working alongside scientists, palaeontologists, entomologists and climatologists

  • How being offered work on the Hobbit Movies led him to leave Cape Town in South Africa to move to Wellington New Zealand

  • What it's like working in Film and TV

  • How he feels teamwork is essential to his creative projects

  • He shares a funny story about the power of creating worlds that appear real
