“Steve “Dusty” Smith has been an attorney since 1990. He also served in the military, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. LTC Smith obtained his bachelor of science in public relations from the University of Texas at Austin in 1982 while being a full-time student and working a full-time job. He later obtained his juris doctor from Thomas Cooley Law School, also while workin g a full-time job. After law school, LTC Smith went into the Army. After leaving active duty, Dusty served three terms as a city councilman in Texas and later served as Acting Chairman of the Dallas, Texas Civil Service Commission.
