It was founded in 1964 by former Navel officer Jean Vanier in Trolly France. Sadly Jean Vainer died this week at age 90. In what may be the last in-depth interview with Vainer, he talked to Kathy Sinnott about how he was led to begin L’Arche - and about his close union with Christ which opened his heart to those often forgotten people embraced by L’Arche.
