It's a topic that's been on the minds of fans and officials in footy – and sports more widely – for decades, but only in recent years has become front-page news. Joining Sarah, Amy and Brodie to discuss concussion complexities is Stephanie Convery, who as well as being Deputy Culture Editor at the Guardian Australia, is the author of the forthcoming book, Who Killed Davey Browne? Following the inquest into the avoidable death of 29-year-old Australian professional boxer Davey Browne, Steph's book will be published by Penguin Random House in March 2020. Our chat covers footy (obvi) and why boxers – like Steph herself – keep chasing the adrenalin of the sport, despite the risks. We also ask what is concussion, how does it manifest, how do we identify it, and what are the long-term repercussions of head injuries, like concussion?
