How many of us suffered traumas as a kid at the hands of our parents? How did this effect us as adults and especially as parents? In this show, we talk about the way that we inflict subtle traumas on our kids, and how we can handle things differently to provide a more communicative and open relationship between us and them. They’re just tiny humans after all, and in order to be happy and fully-functional when they’re full-sized, it’s up to us to provide the skills they need to engage the world and love themselves. We talk about the importance of uplifting music in the lives of our kids - something I think is key in an era of truly destructive vibrations overtaking the radio, TV, and internet. We recommend a few of our favorites - Trevor Hall, Paul Izak, Nahko, and the featured artists of the episode - Satsang. Thanks to Satsang for the permission to use the song “Just a Child” from their album “Pyramids”. It’s a must-have for anyone wanting to jam some solid music with a positive message. Message for the day - listen to your kids and let them be human. Listen to their music and share good music with them. You may be the only source of positivity they have in the world, and your influence is the strongest they’ve got if you do something with it. Be their biggest advocate for growth and positive development. Raising a generation of positive kids is the best chance we have of leaving this world better than we found it.
