This episode is an ode to LGBT STEM Day! The second-annual #LGBTSTEMDay was on Friday, July 5, 2019. It’s a day full of events, campaigns, and storytelling to celebrate LGBTQ+ folks in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It also acknowledges the unique challenges faced by trans and queer scientists in these fields.

To celebrate queer folks in STEM, I invited 6 guests to chat about their experiences as LGBTQ+ scientists. Here are our guests:

Meet Maya Degrood, Instagram's very own @MolecularMaven. She's a cancer researcher starting her M.Sc. at the University of British Columbia in the fall.
