A shiur based on the text of Derech Hashem. We will Use the clarity of the Ramchal to: Elucidate fundamental and esoteric ideas in Judaism. Give an introduction to Kabbalah and Chasidus. Give a sense of the “the big picture” of Hashem’s interactions with his world. We will take cerebral understandings and apply them “Al derech Havoda”to live a fuller Jewish life.

This Pesach mamar is based on the question of the “ben hachochom” (the “wise son” of the hagodo) and explores the differences between eidos chukim and mishpotim, highlighting the uniqueness of eidos.

The Rebbe said this mamar (the 2nd Chanukah mamar of that year) on Zos Chanukah 5738. It describes how the Chanukah menorah is lit in a way that represents its unique objective- illuminating the darkness and transforming it. It highlights how the halachos of the time of its lighting specify 3 negatives that have a source in holiness (as does everything) and that through its lighting it is elevated even higher than its source.
