Ever wondered about the delicate line between peacekeeping and peacemaking? As a declared Enneagram Peacemaker, I open up about my own struggles and revelations on this very topic. I'm not just here to keep the peace, but to actively create it, to write new narratives and build spaces of ease and belonging. This is my journey of self-discovery, a journey that is far from over, and you're invited to join me on this path.
The Catalyst Church wasn't built in a day, and neither was my spiritual journey. Discover how the church evolved from humble beginnings to its current status, and how I went from a staff member at Rock Harbor in Costa Mesa to a pastor. The church isn't just a physical structure, it's a space filled with tensions, discussions, and sometimes, controversies. One such core debate is on women's roles in the church, and it's time we address it head-on.
Dive into the deep end with me as we navigate the complexities of life, loss, and the Christian practices of Lent and Advent. It's not just about darkness and joy, but the tension that exists between them. We also confront the challenging topics of social media addiction, the savior complex, competition, and scarcity and their impact on us. But it's not all heavy, as we lighten the mood sharing our favorite local spots in Humboldt County for a good drink and a bite. And then, we end on a note of hope - exploring the concept of being a beloved child of God, and why it’s the best deal in the universe.
