×LifeFight Segment 026: Team USA vs Cuba with special guests champions Brendan Raymer & Drew Gigax! Cuba has finally decided to open its ports to the US after a long spurt of banning Americans from their country. They highly dislike our “capitalist” ways and the dictator doesn’t want us to influence his fellow countrymen! Sooooo… what do WE do as soon as young Castro Jr. decides to unclench his fist, open the ports and allow Americans the opportunity that his father would never allow? WE GO IN AND START A FIGHT! That’s right. American kickboxing promoter Chip Post saw this as a great opportunity to celebrate this suggestion with a kickboxing match up of Team USA vs Team Cuba! Cuba accepted the challenge and lined up their best men for the battle. Chip Post then went on a search throughout the U.S. to find the top fighters to represent us. One of his stops was Andre’s Academy where he asked for my two champions Brendan Raymer & Drew Gigax. We accepted without hesitation. Of course I knew the position that he United States was in with Cuba, so when I upped Brendan and Drew’s training for the fight, I also included survival skills training just in case a war broke out. I educated them on how to make weapons from everyday items; rules on maintaining water & food; how to secure their hotel rooms from invaders and more. Raymer and Gigax would arrive in Cuba prepared to fight inside of the ring and outside of it if necessary. Now if Cuba was going to allow America to “invade” them with their fighters for the 1st historical Team USA vs Team Cuba event, there was no way in the world that Cuba wanted us to walk away with a win. So the dictator, who owns and runs everything in the country from the banks to the carwashes, was sure to find his top fighters to verse Raymer & Gigax. Raymer’s opponent was Yosian Garbey, with at record of 13 wins – and 1 loss plus 20lbs on Raymer. Gigax’s opponent was Javier Mesa with a record of 29 wins -1 loss and 10 Kos! His Kos equaled the number of fights Drew Gigax had within his young career. On this podcast you will hear the story directly from Raymer and Gigax regarding what occurred in their fights. And I guarantee you that that won’t be the most exciting part. During this podcast I could barely get the two to talk about the fight, because they had so much more to tell about their experience within the country. Their experiences of a lack of food and water; hourly weight drops and gains; overheating; dehydration; and more importantly, their moments with the citizens of this country that once banned Americans from ever stepping foot on their soil. There’s a great lesson for us all as Americans to learn that can only be taught to you in this podcast by our two American warriors and courageous top fighters who learned more about America while in Cuba, than they did while growing up on U.S. soil. I learned A LOT interviewing them and trust me… you don’t want to miss it! You and everyone that you know needs to listen to this educational and inspiring interview because on this interview I’m no longer the only one in your corner… champions Brendan Raymer & Drew Gigax are too! Stay Strong!…
LifeFight Segment 025: Why we overeat Just the other day I was explaining to Rebekah how I had eaten so much popcorn, candy, ice cream etc… in one sitting while watching a couple of movies that I made myself sick! I felt like I was about to puke at any moment AND moreover, I WANTED to puke. Now here’s the catch… I didn’t want to puke so I could feel better… I wanted to puke so I could continue to eat more! Yes, me. Now don’t sweat me too much because I’m sure you’ve probably been there a couple of times yourself. But this almost gluttonous moment in my life helped me to realize a new enemy that we had all better learn to stand up to. And that enemy is called, “Overeating!” This is why I felt it was so important to do this podcast on “Why we overeat.” Overeating is becoming an epidemic in America opposite of other countries whose food epidemics usually stem from starvation or “undereating”. Now of course we know that one of the reasons that we overeat is because our food is easy for us to acquire. We don’t have to hunt, grow or harvest anything! It all sits on a shelf just waiting for us to trade slips of paper for it. I personally feel that this process desensitizes us from appreciating a lot of the food that we can easily buy. We take it for granted which can easily lead to our neglect. In this LifeFight segment, “Why we overeat”, I give 7 reasons as to why we can’t seem to stop from converting our spoons, and forks into shovels whenever we’re around food. I feel that we all need to control our overeating and the first step is to know “why” we do it. Here are some of the reasons. Boredom is a big factor in our overeating. When the mind isn’t occupied with tasks it easily steers towards food. Boredom is one of the worse experiences that we encounter as human beings, and we have learned how to battle it with food! No more boring work conventions or weekends at grandmas, because food will be there! So understanding that you may be overeating when you’re bored, offers you some insight that could help you to control this behavior. Find something to do when you’re bored so your mind doesn’t shift to food! Peer pressure from family, friends, co-workers and even bosses can be a big part of your overeating. If you’re attending lots of business functions that are always catered heavily with food, this may be your vice. If some of your surrounding buddies are dedicated overeaters, they are going to be sure to always include you in the duty as they overstuff themselves. And definitely beware the baking grandmother or mother who may have you confused with Hansel & Gretel. This can be a hard battle because your family, friends, and possibly even boss could feel insulted when you don’t eat the cooking that they put their heart and soul or money into. Visual attraction is another reason “Why we overeat”. Food companies load their products up with food coloring, carnauba wax, a ½ naked woman and anything else that can convince you to want it for any other reason than simply the taste of it. And if you’re doubting me I want you to think about how tasty the following items appear: Cupcakes; Jelly Beans; Ice Cream; Birthday Cake; Cotton Candy. Now all of these things are basically the same forms of everyday sugar, but the colors and decorations make us want to gobble them down more than we would if they were just brown or white. Now of course I know that you know that it is my job to do more than just “inform” you of your enemies who make you overeat. I will also educate you on how to defeat them! But you have to listen to the podcast to get that info. But fret not! It’s FREE for you to listen! See. You never have to worry because…Now, I’m your corner!…
LifeFight Segment 024: Beyond CCW Are YOU ready to be a legal vigilante? Well get your tights and cape out because as of now, it is legal for you to be a superhero in most states in the U.S. How do you get signed up to play the position of Kick Ass in your neighborhood? Surprisingly you may be a citizen who already is signed up and has taken on the duty to kick some criminal booty, and in this segment, Beyond CCW, I’m going to give you tips so you don’t end up with your Ass Kicked! As we zip through space and time things around us change. And if we want to keep up and survive among those changes, we had better make some changes ourselves. One of the changes that we’re finding ourselves having to make as Americans is within our self-defense. Criminals are getting so bold and savvy that they’re manipulating around law enforcement to comment crimes upon the everyday citizen. Carjacking, home invasions, attacking joggers in the park, are all sneaky crimes that have become so hard for law enforcement to stop, that citizens have voted to take the law into their own hands. And the tactic that citizens are using is to arm themselves with guns while away from their homes! Of course it always seems a sensible solution to fight fire with fire when your enemy is burning the crap out of you. For clarification, I personally do agree with arming the 75 year old woman with a .357 who has to walk past the group of gang members in North St. Louis to buy groceries. All citizens should have an equal chance at immediate defense against a criminal, and we all know that most if not all criminals use guns. Sometimes law enforcement can’t respond before the criminal does his deed, and none of us feel that our life or the life of a loved one is worth taking the chance to see if the police can make it on time, this time. HOWEVER… even though this has proven to be a sensible solution, there are problems with gun carriers that are beginning to surface. #1: Some gun carriers feel that they aren’t receiving enough training with the certification course so they still won’t carry their firearm. #2. Criminals are targeting gun carriers and robbing them of their guns. Now you know as well as I do that I could hand you a certificate to carry nunchucks and it wouldn’t matter one bit if you have no training with using them. Furthermore, it may be nice that you can swing them around with fancy moves while we’re in the safety of the dojo and you aren’t under any kind of real attack, but how are you going to respond when there’s a serious threat in front of you? You don’t know because you’ve yet to feel the pressure of an attack with that weapon in your hand. In this podcast segment, Beyond CCW, I talk about some of the incidents where legal pistol packing citizens are robbed of the pistol that they’re packing by savvy criminals. I also cover the areas where gun carriers are extremely vulnerable to be attacked BECAUSE they are carrying a gun. I will give you tips from my Beyond CCW training course on how to assure that you don’t end up on the embarrassing end of having your gun taken from you. There’s much to consider in regards to self-defense if you are a gun carrier than just carrying and having the will to shoot. The most important is the action of making an effective draw. There are many things to consider when trying to make an effective draw such as; #1. Where your gun is upon your person. #2. What kind of clothing you have to maneuver through to get to your gun. #3. How close your attacker is to you. #4. What or who is between you and the attacker. That’s a small example of some unconsidered things that can get you stuck in the draw during a panicking situation. And this podcast segment, Beyond CCW will cover many more of the angles that you and the certifying course may not have thought of. So be sure to listen to Beyond CCW and encourage any pistol packing friends that you have to listen also, because I’d hate to see your gun carrying intentions to backfire on you. Stay Strong, Jermaine Andre’ “Now I’m in your corner.”…
Segment 023: Impossible Self-Defense Situations Hello strong listener. I hope all is well for you. In this LifeFight segment, Impossible Self-Defense Situations, I plan to give you some tips, info and even strategies to assure that you never get caught in a situation where it may be impossible to use self-defense. This could happen to you and believe it or not, it happens to people every day. This is because criminals think just as we do, and they are becoming savvier in working around awareness and even security features. And this is why I plan to give you some Intel to keep you ahead in the battle. In the opening of Impossible Self-Defense Situations podcast I cover one of the current lessons at my Mixed Martial Arts Academy. I’m sure you know that most self-defense development occurs inside the safety of the dojo walls, where strong measures are taken to assure that injuries don’t happen. This gives students and members a confident feeling of safety while also shielding them from the harsh weather conditions. As necessary as these elements are in a modern dojo for it to operate correctly for modern day people, these comforts can weaken the trainees defense. How you ask? By programming the mind to always be comfortable and familiar when executing self-defense techniques. This will happen to the brain if the trainees always train in the same environment, with the same tone and the same classmates. Therefore, I took it upon myself to bring a change to my members, and we all trained outside in the parking lot, in our cars! I showed them how to Hammer Fist the groin of an unwanted passenger; how to donkey kick someone who tries to force their way in the car and more! It was a great experience for them all that brought a small shock to the brain. Be sure to extend your self-defense training outside the classroom. Let’s move along into Impossible Self-Defense Situations. The first situation that was brought to my attention was the shooting of a reporter while she was conducting an interview. The gunman walked right up to her and open fired. She never saw him coming. Unfortunately she and her cameraman were both killed. A situation such as this one proves to be very difficult to defend, because reporters are taught to zone out their surroundings when they are reporting. It is not only a honed skill; it is a requirement that allows them to perform their job well. Sadly this skill totally diminishes their awareness at that moment. However, as hopeless as a situation such as this may seem, there is something that can be done to detour this outcome. I reveal this tactic in this podcast. Another Impossible Self-Defense Situation that was brought to my attention was a carjacking that occurred in a woman’s garage. A lady drove her Toyota Camry into her home garage and hit the button to close the main door. She stepped out of her vehicle as the door closed but then the door suddenly opened back up. She looked over at the garage door to see 2 gunmen coming at her through the opening garage door. They assaulted her and stole her vehicle. In this situation the attackers obviously stalked this lady to learn her behaviors, hid as she drove up, then used the safety feature of the garage to gain access to her home while she was alone and secluded. These carjackers had a thorough plan that they executed in a timely manner. These types of attacks can be hard to defeat but not impossible. If you want to assure that you don’t become the victim of a harder working, thinking criminal then you have to work harder on your awareness. In this podcast I will give you some advice, and tactics to blow the whistle on a sneak attack like this. The next Impossible Self-Defense Situation that was thrown at me was very upsetting. I was surprised that situations such as this one even existed, but horribly they do. I was even shown video of people getting attacked while holding newborn babies and small children. Can you imagine someone punching and kicking at you while you’re holding a baby in your arms?! This is insane! And yes it would be VERY difficult to defend yourself while trying to shelter the child and avoid falling on top of and crushing it! I pray that that videos that I saw were isolated incidents of sick individuals whom none of the rest of us would ever behave like. Of course I quickly came up with some solutions on how to defend yourself, and the child if you ever find yourself in a situation such as this. You can hear them on this LifeFight segment, Impossible Self-Defense Situations. Remember that you can always contact me through the LifeFight Facebook page if you have questions regarding self-defense, awareness or just any topic that you would like me to shred. I hope this segment aids you and the people that you care for as you continue the path of your LifeFight. And always remember, that I’m in your corner now! Jermaine Andre’…
Segment 022: Magnificent Martial Art Movie Messages Hello strong listener! In this LifeFight segment, “Magnificent Martial Art Movie Messages”, I am going to reveal hidden messages of morale that I have found in numerous martial arts movies. Of course I know just as you do that movies were created mainly for entertainment, but I think there are some movie creators whose intentions are a little more than just selling a ticket. The original “KARATE KID” may be a corny, old timer’s movie to today’s younger generations, but it is definitely on the top of my list as a deliverer of a Magnificent Martial Art Movie Message. Even though the main character, Danny, did commit himself to training hard and practicing the martial arts to defeat his neighborhood bullies, there is something else that Danny had that made him trainable, and gave him true hope to defeat the rival experts who had been training way longer than him. Of course this trait in Danny was never officially pointed out in the movie, and many people may not have even noticed it about Danny. This trait existed within Danny before he even met the martial arts instructor who guided him on the path to change his life. This trait of Danny’s was courage. All through the movie Danny refused to back down to the bullies, even when he knew he was going to get beat up by the whole group. This is the main power that gave Danny potential to defeat his enemies, and I think the writer and director did an excellent job of strategically placing this message within the movie. Another favorite of mine that delivers a Magnificent Martial Art Movie Message is “KUNG FU HUSTLE!” This movie is an incredible act of humor, special effects and super powered martial artists. It has many messages that it delivers, and one of my favorite ones is the message that, “just because you do the right thing doesn’t mean that you are going to win.” Of course this message was delivered in a heartbreaking scene, where the star of the show steps in as a child to save a blind girl who is being bullied by a gang of older boys. Now the star of the show had previously been practicing “The Rotating Palm” martial art style daily before this incident. He had even developed enough power to make the trees sway when he delivered his deadly strike in the air. Well, things don’t work out like he expects when he decides to strike one of the bullies with his Rotating Palm technique. The technique fails and the bullies beat the snot out of him then celebrate by urinating on the defeated child. Of course our little star is shamed in front of the little girl, and he runs off as she tries to pick him up. Now the Magnificent Martial Art Movie Message that I saw in this scene was that the little boy succeeded in his effort even though his martial art failed in the way that he wanted to use it. He still saved the girl even though he had to take the beaten that she may have ended up taking. This is an important message that we all must learn when it comes to playing the true hero. Heroes don’t always shine. The last Magnificent Martial Art Movie Message that I’m going to reveal to you comes from one of my personal favorite movies, KUNG FU PANDA! KUNG FU PANDA delivers so many messages that I think the writer, and director had to be levitating over a lily pad when they put this hilarious, heart wrenching movie together. One of the powerfully Magnificent Martial Art Movie Messages that was delicately placed was that, “one’s weakness can become one’s greatest strength when given proper attention.” Throughout the movie the star character, Po, was ridiculed and even hated for his obese stature. Even he knew that his body structure did not fit that of the great martial artist that he was expected to become to save the village from the ruthless villain Tae Lung. When the show down arrived, Tae Lung even defeated Po’s heroes, “The Furious Five”. But when Tae Lung attempted to use the same paralyzing death touch on Po that he used on them, it failed. Tae Lung’s deadly technique couldn’t penetrate Po’s fat. It even tickled Po causing him to laugh and slip into his comical character which led to him defeating Tae Lung. Enjoy listening to Magnificent Martial Arts Movie Messages and let your child sit in too. And I encourage you to check out the movies that I speak on and see if you see the same messages that I did, or maybe you’ll see one that I didn’t. Thanks again for always listening. Jermaine Andre’ “Now I’m in YOUR corner!”…
Segment 021: How to be the baddest Mo Fo in the room Hello strong listener! I hope you’re taking all that life can give you and smiling with every trying step that empowers your character! Today’s LifeFight podcast session is titled, “How to be the baddest Mo Fo in the room!” And in case you’re wondering what I may mean with this title, I am speaking in regards to being the toughest, roughest, readiest to kick but sum bit*h everywhere that you go! Now I know you’re wondering how in the heck am I going to convert you into this Double Bad, Fire Breathing Jet Li Dragon over the radio without the disposal of my dojo, pads, bags, and sticks to beat you into shape with! Well, it’s time that I give you my secrets on how I assure to always be the “The Baddest Mo Fo In The Room” before I even ball a fist. The first thing that I am going to teach you is to research who else is going to be where you’re planning to go. You can’t be the baddest Mo Fo in the room if you choose to attend a place where the losing team of a bunch of pissed off, steroid pumped, muscle head Rugby players are going to go, and drink after getting their butts handed to them by their rivals! So step one is to always get the best recon that you can on who else may be where you’re going to be. Now if you choose to attend a High School’s 50 year reunion… you might have being the baddest Mo Fo in the room in your pocket before you walk in the door. The next strategy to assuring that you’re the Baddest Mo Fo in the Room is to wear loose fitting clothing that you can maneuver comfortably in. You never know when you may have to defend yourself, so don’t ever skimp on being properly prepared. When I worked as a nightclub Bouncer I watched too many people lose battles they should have won due to tight pants, tight shirts and jackets. Every punch, kick or movement that they tried to make during the intense moment was restricted, and basically restrained by their sexy outfits. Clothing that was too loose was also the dreaded failure of many wanna be Hipsters, as their sweatpants bottoms rolled under their shoes giving their foe the winning advantage as he tripped to the ground. Carrying secluded weapons is another way to stay on top of your gain to be the Baddest Mo Fo in the Room! Now understand what I mean when I say, “secluded”! This means no showing off and bragging to your buddies about it! Keep it to yourself in an unknown, concealable, easy to get to spot. Now I don’t want you to think that I’m offering you the freedom to break the law because I’m not. You’d be surprised at the legal items that you can carry that make better weapons than the one’s regulated by law. And yes I actually do reveal some of these items in this podcast to help you be the Baddest Mo Fo in the Room! Remember to NEVER sacrifice safety and security for comfort and/or fun. If an incident happens to you or someone that you care for, it will be devastating and will cause unpredictable changes in the life that you’re used to living. Listen to “How to be the Baddest Mo Fo in the Room” and learn some easy preparedness and awareness tactics that may someday save your life. Then assure that everyone that you care for also listens so all of you can always be safe and ready. Jermaine Andre’ “Now I’m in YOUR corner!”…
SEGMENT #020: 8 Ways to destroy your workout Hello! I hope your morning is going good because NOW it is time for me to really get on you about that workout! If you are a student or client of mine’s then this is a place that I get to mini-monitor in this podcast where you can usually hide from my pointing finger! And if you are not a student or client of mine’s you are about to receive some FREE overspray lessons as I shower everyone in this LifeFight podcast episode with, 8 Ways to Destroy Your Workout! The funny thing about this podcast is that it has absolutely nothing to do with what you do in the gym, on the track, in the pool or wherever you choose to get your fit on. This has to do with what YOU (and I) do when we’re not under the judging eyes of our fellow fitness and/or martial arts associates. 8 Ways to Destroy Your Workout is about what we do at home, at work, for entertainment and even before AND after our workouts! These are the moments that we can destroy everything that we busted our whoohoos to create while leaving us in a fog as to why we aren’t getting the results that we’re seeking. But before I get into that juicy and possibly upsetting info, I definitely have to cover the story about the National Guard leader who was told by the Governor to put down the cheeseburgers, cake & ice cream! Yes, believe it or not our General of the National Guard is doing an excellent job in representing the American people in the area of obesity. And he’s doing such a good job that the Governor had to step in and pull him away from the dinner table! It sounds like this National Guard leader could probably add some powerful information to this podcast! Lol! Getting back to the 8 Ways to Destroy Your Workout, the first point that I make is in regards to the lack of stretching! Neglecting stretching can destroy your workout in many ways with the main culprit being INJURIES! Stretching is neglected by fitness enthusiasts because it isn’t exciting or very active. This leaves us to feel as if we aren’t accomplishing much towards our fitness goal because we aren’t sweating or breathing heavy. And the flipside of this coin is even worse, because we may even use our precious stretching time to sit and be lazy instead of properly stretching. Well in 8 Ways to Destroy Your Workout I will give you my secrets to stretching, and how I can still put the bottom of my foot on a 6 foot tall standing man’s forehead, while maintaining the figure of a bodybuilder. Another big “boo boo” that we all do in this world that demands all of our time and energy just to survive is a lack of recovery rest. It’s funny that I writing to you about this one in exact, because I am actually taking a day off because I was lacking rest. My past 2 days of workouts have $ucked badly. I’ve been weak and tired during my workouts and couldn’t complete my full tasks. I’ve had to crawl out of bed tired and even had to drag myself through the days. It was time for a break because I was destroying my workout by not allowing my muscles to recover and heal. I slept in this morning and took the day off of the training floor to allow some rest and recovery time. Now I should be 100% better when I face back off with that heavy bag tomorrow! More opponents to your workout that I cover include but are not limited to; eating bad foods; overdosing supplements; ignoring potential injuries and much more. Working out is hard and the last thing that we want to do is to lose everything that we worked so hard to gain. 8 Ways to Destroy Your Workout will help you to identify when you may be breaking down your hard work. Ignorance is destructive and knowledge is constructive. The knowledge of 8 Ways to Destroy Your Workout will empower you with the vision to see the minute mistakes that can have a massive impact on your results. Be sure to listen to this LifeFight podcast 8 Ways to Destroy Your Workout so you can take full control of your results today. Jermaine Andre’ “Now I’m in YOUR corner!”…

58:15LIFEFIGHT Segment #019: Special guest Shawn Stevenson of the Model Health Show On this segment of LifeFight I have Shawn Stevenson sitting in the studio with me to bring you some of the nutrition advice that I don’t have the time or experience to give you. Lol! Shawn Stevenson is a bestselling author and creator of The Model Health Show, featured as the #1 Nutrition and Fitness podcast on iTunes. A graduate of The University of Missouri – St. Louis with a background in biology and kinesiology, Shawn went on to be the founder of Advanced Integrative Health Alliance, a successful company that provides Wellness Services for both individuals and organizations worldwide. Shawn is also a dynamic keynote speaker who has spoken for TEDx, universities, and numerous organizations with outstanding review. However, one of the main reasons that I chose to bring Shawn on my show is because he has an amazing story healing himself of an incurable disease through nutrition and fitness. During Shawn’s younger years he was a highly accomplishing athlete with plans to take on the world! Everything was working in that direction for him until he learned from a doctor that it was game over for him. He was informed that he had an incurable condition that would leave him handicap, in pain and on medication for the rest of his life. The doctor informed Shawn that there was nothing that he could do about it. It was inevitable. Shawn respectfully took the professional doctor’s advice and seized his mission in athletics. He gained bad weight and was quickly converted from Shredded Athlete Shawn to Fluffy Sit Around Shawn. The condition started to take Shawn to a state of depression and self pity. Shawn couldn’t believe how this could happen to him at such a young age especially when he was such a healthy and athletically powerful person. And Shawn couldn’t believe it so much… that he STOPPED believing it! I’m not going to go any further into the story because I don’t want to spoil what occurred next, but I will assure you that you don’t want to miss this inspiring story of how Shawn cured himself by going AGAINST the directions of his doctor. The steps that Shawn took can be the same steps that you take to get control of your body when the professional, certified experts tell you that you can’t do a damn thing about it! I reminded Shawn of how 80% of the food that is sold to us is loaded with sugar and that sugar has been clinically proven to be 3x more addictive than heroin. I then informed Shawn that I love sugar just as most Americans do. And after throwing my own dirty laundry out in the street right in front of Shawn and my strong listeners, I assured that there was also NO way that Shawn to escape the studio without giving ME and my listeners some tips on how to break the sugar habit. Shawn gave exceptional tips on how to snap through this addiction that is advertised and programmed into our American brains all day long. One tip was to be sure to find a replacement for the sugar when you take it out of your eating habits. A great replacement that he named was sweet potato! So enjoy listening to The Model Health Show’s Shawn Stevenson as we chop up some nutrition plans to help everyone not only get a little healthier, but to possibly even cure something that the experts are telling you is incurable! Thanks for always being a strong listener and please feel more than free to load me up with your reviews! Your reviews feed the needs of myself and my co-host Rebekah Beck. LifeFight Segment 018: Youth Attacking Back in School Hello. I hope all is well for you. I’d like to congratulate you on your endurance to keep in stride with me on the past LifeFight Segments. There’s been some very intense segments and some funny ones. A lot of life lessons have been taught and I’m sure some questions and thoughts have surfaced in your mind. And the best part of all of this is that we haven’t even begun! In this LifeFight Segment, Youth Attacking Back in School we discuss whether kids should or shouldn’t be allowed to fight back when attacked. But before we get into that conversation we discuss Rebekah’s mysterious 2 week disappearance and how it happened. Rebekah is back in the studio with healthy and ready to blame everything on me. Lol! Of course we all know that we can cause serious harm to our bodies by over eating and not working out. But did you know that you can also cause serious harm to your body by not eating enough and working out too much!? This is what happened to Rebekah. She put herself on a cut and ate small meals while doubling her workouts. This didn’t fare well and it even lead to the dehydration and malnourishment of her body. In the beginning of this segment we’ll discuss how this occurred and how you can avoid this from happening to you. With regard to Youth Attacking Back in School, I’m sure you’re more than excited to hear my daughter Kaitlyn’s thoughts on this topic, and of course I have her in studio with me. My having her in studio with me also keeps me in check because I can’t tell you to do something with your kid that I wouldn’t do with mine. We all know that the word among the administration in junior and high school is that if a bully attacks you, don’t fight back! Well, what do you think I tell my daughter Kaitlyn to do if a bully attacks her? You will surely learn in this podcast. Serious, permanent damage can be done during a bullying attack and this is one of the reasons that I am not a fan of a child allowing another aggressive child to just pound on them until adult help hopefully arrives. Teeth can be lost, bones can be broken and even serious brain trauma can occur to a person who isn’t fighting back when brutally attacked. So the protocol of “not fighting back” in school brings up the concern of serious injury to the child who didn’t initiate the attack and may be innocent. I ask you… Is this the American way to lay back and accept an attack while hoping that someone may aid you? Is this a direct violation of civil rights to tell a child that he will lose his schooling if he defends himself? Many of us older folks know that when an everyday kid finally puts a smack down on the neighborhood bully, it shuts down that bully. I tell a story on this Youth Attacking Back in School podcast about my fourth grade experience in school with a bully, and how what I did to him not only shut down him as a bully, it shut down his bigger older brothers. This was always an effective way for youth to deal with bullying 20 years ago. But now with the “NO FIGHT BACK” clause in schools, this neighborhood remedy has been eliminated. You may know that I am no stranger to the hallways of at-risk schools and children. I spend my time in these types of schools teaching calmness and self-control to some of the youth through Mixed Martial Arts. This has fortuned me to see things from the administration and teacher’s perspective also. Believe it or not, the teachers who work in schools that have bullying concerns deal with a high level of stress every second. AND through my experience in the halls with the fights, and the young mobs, I have learned the sensible reason why teachers, principals and school administrators must have a policy that DOES NOT allow youth to “fight back!” or things will get worse for everyone! It appears that youth today are in a predicament while at school that many times allows them only 2 choices. They can be on the bully’s side as he picks on his victim, or they can be one of the victims getting picked on. Of course I do not plan to leave youth in this horrible position in the place where they are going to learn how to survive in this world, and I come up with some effective remedies that youth can use to shut down a bully... even an aggressive attacking one! And the administration can’t label their defense as “fighting back”. Please enjoy your listen to Youth Attacking Back in School and assure that any youth that you know also get to listen. You will appreciate the questions and answers that we surface in this educational and fun segment. Thanks always for being a strong listener and remember than now… I’m in YOUR CHILD’S corner! LIFEFIGHT-Show 017-Beware of Human Trafficking Hello! This is a very important segment for you to listen to. It is on Human Trafficking. Human Trafficking is a multibillion dollar industry that operates here in America, and possibly even in your neighborhood. The modern organizers of Human Trafficking have developed trapping tactics that can make it directly into your living room while you’re standing there watching. In this segment, Beware Human Trafficking I will have an expert researcher, Christy Huse, on the line with me who will expose these tactics. I will then give you ways to be prepared, aware and to defend if Human Trafficking ever happens to land on your doorstep. One of the ways that Human Traffickers can operate is by identifying who they are going to kidnap off of the desires of their clients. Orders can be placed for certain types of victims and the kidnappers will go out to find what is wanted. This alone can make anyone an immediate target that may not have been a target just seconds ago. The average target age for a victim is 13 years old. Girls are the main target but boys are also targets. Human Traffickers usually target run-aways and/or those from abusive family backgrounds. They do however adjust their webs to snare those from normal backgrounds if the description of the victim and situation fits. All Human Trafficking doesn’t involve a violent kidnapping. Your neighbor, friend or even a family member can be a part of a Human Trafficking cell. Human Traffickers can be men and even women. Men can step into a targets life and play the role of the understanding boyfriend while turning the target against her family as he builds her trust. Female Human Traffickers can do the same by playing the “mother role” to young, girls. These types of Human Traffickers will usually be loaded with a fake identity and will shower their target with gifts. All victims of Human Trafficking aren’t necessarily kidnapped and shipped out to another country. Many are even allowed to return home while forced to continue to work when called upon. They are controlled with threats of injury or death to them and/or their loved ones. Many young victims of Human Trafficking still live at home with their parents, and attend Junior High School or High School. Eventually these type of Human trafficking victims are brainwashed to believe that the cell is their family and they are converted into recruiters. Christy points out that parents have to be stricter on their children. Don’t be afraid to upset your child because your are questioning them, snooping or saying no to things that you aren’t comfortable with. Get to know their friends and don’t’ allow them to go to parties and places that you know nothing about. Christy revealed that another way that Human Traffickers operate is to drug the drink of a target at a party so she will pass out. Once she passes out they sell use of her body to predators while she is unconscious. Then she will awaken the next morning having no idea as to what occurred. Beware photoshoots and modeling invites on the social media. Human traffickers also play on girls’ dreams to be a star. Never allow your child to attend one of these functions alone even if it seems legit, and is under the name of a legit company. Human Trafficking cells have mastered masking themselves behind the names of legit companies. They then trap the ladies of choice who attend these try outs. Always research these companies and attend them with your child. Human Trafficking is a big problem in the U.S. and world. Please don’t ever think that it can’t make it to your front door. Pay attention to the people that you allow around your child and stay deeply involved in your child’s life. Traffickers usually look for easy targets but they have also devised tactics that allow them to get to more difficult targets if the target meets a criteria that they are searching for. You can never be too careful when it comes to your child. Listen to LifeFight segment, “Beware Human Trafficking” and have your child listen also. This information will arm you and your family with the knowledge to never become a victim to this operation. Sincerely, Jermaine Andre’ “Remember. I’m in your corner now!”…

1:09:30Life Fight - Show 016 - Jermaine Andre' Talks Teen Attack Back With His Daughter Kaitlyn Andre’ In this segment of LifeFight, I bring my 16 year old daughter Kaitlyn Andre’ on air with me. I’m sure you can imagine that her personality is a definite extension of mine, but I promise that we do get some sensible work accomplished once we steer through her consistent harassment of me. Since Kaitlyn is reaching her adult years I’m introducing her to all of the rated R movies that I wouldn’t allow her to watch . The first intro into the old school movie screen was Rambo! Kaitlyn and I discuss the heart wrenching speech that Rambo gives at the end of Rambo I regarding returning to America as a soldier and being spit on. Kaitlyn relates well to this topic because her mother is a retired Air Force Airman. Models! Icons! Singers! Dancers! Kaitlyn questions me regarding how teen girls try their hardest to live up to the images that are portrayed in advertisements, movies and on the stage. She asks for advice on ways to keep from falling into this hopeless pitfall like she sees some of her peers do. Of course I load Kaitlyn up with plenty of ammo including informing her that most of the models, actors fitness people etc… are photo shopped in their pictures so they don’t even meet those expectations. I also encourage her that we are all given what we have to work with and we can never be exactly like someone else. The key to life is to figure our personal talents and enhance them. How do youth deal with being physically attacked by bullies when they will be suspended or expelled for fighting back? This was a question that was a little difficult to answer to my daughter who I personally trained to physically stand up for herself when needed. The answer to this question is not easy for the administration, principles, teachers, parents or youth. Bullies now act out in groups with efforts to intimidate all of the students and sometimes even the teachers. Youth who are at school for academics have to come together to form a group that is against fighting in school. Kaitlyn questions protection against abduction by giving an example of a scene from the movie “The Call” starring Halle Berry. She describes the scene where a man bumps into a young girl and he grabs and drugs her in a very slick manner. The man’s strategy was very well planned, and it appeared to Kaitlyn that there was no way that the abduction could have been avoided. Of course I had to smash her thought of helplessness by pointing out the mistake of the girl being on her cell phone, and not being aware while walking through an unsafe parking garage. Kaitlyn and I steered into the conversation of being home alone and the threat of a potential break in. I immediately put my foot down to remind her and all of her teen friends to NEVER announce that you are home alone on social networks, or that your parents are leaving town. This is something that I see many teens do on social networks and they have to understand that there are more people than just their friends reading their threads. I also gave a small lesson on how to create non-lethal "booby traps" that can injure an intruder. A handful of cayenne pepper powder can convert any home alone teen into a fire spitting ninja! And some simple Baby Oil or Vegetable Oil squirted on the kitchen floor can turn a walking surface into an immediate ice rink! Kaitlyn and I discuss more topics from what to do if a gun man enters the classroom and opens fire, to dealing with the modern day boyfriend. Kaitlyn asks the hard core questions and you can best believe I give the hard core answers. So please listen to this podcast and definitely include your teen child, grandchild, niece, nephew or friend so they can also know what Kaitlyn knows and asks me the questions that every kid wants to ask. And remember to give us reviews on i-Tunes, Stitcher and we now have an iHeart Radio Station! So lock and load with this podcast so you can carry it in your backpack as you continue the path of your LifeFight. And always remember that now… I’m in your corner. Sincerely Jermaine Andre’…
LifeFight Segment 15: Employing Your Haters Haters! We hear about them daily. We probably even talk about them daily. And whether we admit to it or not, a Hater can have a powerful effect on how others view us, and sometimes even on how we view ourselves. We must be careful in our dealings with our Haters or they can suck us right into their game, while using our energy to turn themselves into the star that we may be trying to be! And this is exactly why I am going to teach you in this LifeFight segment of Employing Your Haters, not only how to keep your Haters from bringing harm to you, but also how to employ them and their actions in your favor. Of course there are many who may “think” they have a true Hater or even falsely claim that they have Haters to try and boost their importance amongst others. It must be clarified that for us to have a Hater we must have truly accomplished something of value. The actions of arrogance and/or rudeness which could lead to the immediate disliking of us as a person, does not define those who hate our guts because we are a jerk or suck, as a true Hater. A Hater is driven by a heart of jealousy against one who is doing well without the fallout of harming others to reach his or her goals. WHO can be a Hater can be complex in this modern world for many reasons. One of the potential Haters that I uncover in this LifeFight segment of “Employing Your haters” is the old friend or family member who transforms into a Hater upon your success. This proves that we must always be prepared to run constant scans on those who surround us as we climb to the top. It can sometimes be possible that one of our closest associates hasn’t gotten infected with Haterism. So what are some ways to put your Haters to work for you? I will reveal a couple of tactics in this letter and then you HAVE to listen to the rest of the podcast to get your magazine fully loaded with ammo. One of the prestige jobs that your Hater does for you is to motivate you. When you hear someone speaking against you and trying to convince others of how “bad” you are, you need to use this as fuel to prove how good and powerful you are. Appreciate their challenge and use the anger that they create as energy to stop slacking off and to get out there and make their word garbage! With this energy you will win in more than one way in the end. Another prestige, unpaid job that the Hater does for you is running a free evaluation on your performance, and pointing out all that is wrong with you. Listen to our Haters’ complaints and look into what he or she is saying. Is there truth to it? Do you honestly agree? If so, you have them to thank for aiding you in correcting something that the important people in your mission may have soon recognized. I personally can remember many things as a fighter that my Haters pointed out about me. I listened to their every word and gave myself an honest check over. There were times that they were correct so I fixed the problem without ever having to issue a payment to anyone! Haters also help to boost your popularity by talking about you even if it’s bad. There’s an old show biz saying that says, “The only bad exposure is no exposure.” I have personally found this to be true and I reveal how in the podcast, “Employing your Haters”. Haters are working for free overtime to get people to know who you are for their claimed bad reason. And in America today we know that a bad boy, or bad girl reputation will most likely get you farther than not. So please enjoy this podcast on Employing Your Haters . It will be an educational and fun listen for you. You won’t view a Hater the same after hearing this. And neither will you ever fear another Hater because now… I’m in your corner. Jermaine Andre’…
LifeFight Segment 14: Attack Back Shock Training! Good Day! Have you seized your chance yet to guide a LifeFight topic? Well if you haven’t, you’re missing out! You can influence our topics through reviews on I-tunes or on my Facebook page, “Jermaine Andre’.” Many have already taken this step by sending in reviews, and even requests on what they would like Rebekah and I to speak on. Don’t miss your chance to guide the direction of a LifeFight podcast with the simple click of a few computer keys! In the beginning of Lifefight Segment, “Attack Back Shock Training”, I elaborate on the selected chapter, “The Annoying Co-worker” from my book, “Dealing Effectively With Idiots”. It seems that many of my Facebook friends have people at work who they don’t want to be associated with. Well I’m sure to give some awesome and even extreme strategies on how you can dodge the annoying co-worker if you have one. One of the strategies that I give is to always pretend to be on the phone when he or she approaches you. I even give away a secret tactic on how to make your annoying co-worker dodge you! You won’t believe these hilarious and effective techniques but keep in mind that it is my job to give you EFFECTIVE techniques that are waaaaaaaaaay outside the norm! Even my co-host Rebekah shook her head at my mad, but sensible, methods! Getting back on a more serious note, it has taken many years of experience, testing and even teaching to finally come up with a self-defense formula that fits today’s citizen under today’s conditions against today’s attacker. Most if not all former martial art styles were created during ancient times for people during ancient times against criminals who used ancient techniques. This is why I felt the need to come up with something that would be more applicable for people today and I’ve finally created an effective, easy to learn training program that I trust can aid the modern individual in defending his or herself. From my martial arts experience I noticed that the biggest concern with modern day people learning to defend themselves was the lack of time. Very few could commit the time that was necessary to study an ancient martial art and become effective with it. So the first thing that I had to assure to do with Attack Back Self-Defense Program, was to design it so the modern person could attend it without disrupting their everyday prior commitments. Attack Back Self-Defense Program has 3 phases and 9 classes. Three (3) classes in each phase. Class 1 of Phase 1 is Awareness & Grab Escapes. Before I teach you how to defend yourself I feel that it is important to teach you how to not have to defend yourself. Awareness can arm you with the sensory system to never end up in a position where you will have to defend yourself. Grab Escapes are also a pre-requisite because they offer you the power to free yourself and escape without having to hurt someone. It’s very important that you are armed with non-deadly force if I am going to arm you with lethal weapons for life and death situations. Blocking is also included within the classes of the formula. Blocking is one of the most neglected lessons in the martial arts and self-defense because, it is boring to teach and not very exciting to practice. This is why I make it one of the first things that you must learn. If you don’t know how to block, you will automatically panic as soon an attacker raises a finger at you. This panic will force you to slam your eyes shut and possibly even turn your back towards your attacker. This won’t be good. Of course you have to know how to unload with strikes and hits on an attacker who is trying to take you down, and I have discovered that Palm Strikes, Eye Flicks, Ear Claps and other non-sporting martial arts techniques are the best for the everyday person to use for self-defense. Attack Back Self-Defense Program arms you with lethal hand to hand techniques that you should assure you are always ready to fire if needed. Striking allows you distance and impact that can knock your attacker; send him to the ground and/or knock him unconscious. Strikes also offer you the choice of escaping after Attacking Back if necessary. An occurrence that can make you immediately fail in a self-defense situation is the shock that the brain goes into when an attack happens. This is where most self-defense fails. When the brain enters a state that is new to it there is always the possibility of the mind and body “freezing”. This causes the victim to forget everything that he or she may have learned while waiting in fear to see what the attacker is going to do next. Of course this is not good and Attack Back keeps this in mind and this is why I have devised a process in Attack Back Self-Defense Program that takes the brain into the room of shock so it becomes familiar with it. This training tactic of Attack Back is so intense that it put Rebekah into tears of intensity when she experienced it. So enjoy listening to Attack Back Shock and learn some things about what you should expect and develop in your self-defense training. And if you feel that you’re up to it, get signed up with Attack Back to experience the real deal and get armed for today’s streets. Thanks for listening and be sure to hit us with reviews so we will know how we’re affecting your daily life if at all. Take care and remember that now I’m in your corner! Jermaine Andre’ LifeFight Segment 14: Attack Back Shock Training!…
Life Fight - Show 013 - 8th Graders vs Jermaine Andre’ “When will you fight again!?” This is a question that I have been repeatedly asked by fans and friends. “I doubt I ever will” is usually my response because I truly was never a fighter. I was simply a martial artist exploring the effectiveness of my skills. My point has been proven so there is not much more desire to go into a wired or roped area to try and outpunch the man who stands before me. My fighting days are over. Well… that’s what I thought until an 8th grade class in North County St. Louis put me in position to have to use my fighting strategies again. Of course you know when I say “fighting ” I’m not speaking of my feet and fists of fury. We’ve known each other far too long through my podcast and you should know by now that I’m speaking of a mental fight. To be exact, it was more of a fight for the position of attention. This is the main battle with a group of young kids are want to be respected as adults, but have yet reached the point of wanting to be responsible like one. What was my first strategy in my fight to beat almost 30 high energy kids in the battle for the center of attention in their school? I had to first establish a trust that I wasn’t there because they were “bad” or incompetent. I informed them that I was brought to aid them in controlling their Battle Energy. I then told them stories of how my lack of controlling my Battle energy lead me to many setbacks in my life. This immediately interested the kids especially since they had heard that they were sent to me because they were bad. I’m sure we all have had a peek at the videos on Facebook of kids banging it out in the school hallways while it appears that the teachers are doing nothing about it. I happened to have been fortuned to step smack in the middle of a hallway full of kids about to fight as a lone female principle and female security guard worked their hardest to neutralize the situation. One of the youth even swung and hit the security guard as I stood and watched while following the rule of “not laying hands on the kids”. …Lol! Like I said earlier, we’ve known each other far too long through my podcast. Do you really think I stood there and simply watched? Well if you don’t, you might want to be sure to listen to this version of LifeFight so you can hear about the response that I gave. The fight in the hallway wasn’t the only battle that I had while there. The biggest fight was in the oversized classroom that the kids and I were stuck in together for 3 hours. Of course I immediately seized control of the kids Battle Energy by daring them to prove how tough they were. Surely they all jumped at the opportunity to prove themselves, and of course I used this opportunity to trick them into executing harsh calisthenics and stretching which would hopefully settle down their Battle Energy to allow me to verbalize the life lessons of the choices that we make. Ha! And I say again, Ha! These kids weren’t going down easy! There was a minimum of the youth who participated at 100% and the one’s who had low interest were sure to be as disruptive as possible during the exercises. Even a well placed fart was boldly delivered during meditation to announce that the control of the calmness of the classroom was theirs, and there would be none unless they approved of it even if it meant totally embarrassing themselves. As a leader and instructor of the martial arts, misbehavior is usually easy to control on the Dojo floor with a well placed Hip Toss on the mat or a Muay Thai leg kick that creates an immediate “frog” that temporarily takes away walking and standing abilities. But these were not options for me since I was holding class in the middle of a public school. The discipline powers of the Master Chief were bound away from their territory! But this didn’t stop my martial expertise. It only adjusted it. It forced me to use the art of fighting without fighting. How so you say??? Listen to 8th Graders vs Jermaine Andre’ and learn my tricky and sometimes hilarious strategies of fighting back against the ones that you cannot hit. Jermaine Andre’! “Now I’m in YOUR corner!”…
Life Fight - Show 012 - Attack Back Hello brave listener! Are you wondering why I’m calling you a brave listener? Well it’s because if you’ve been keeping up with me and listening to my past LifeFight podcasts, you must be pretty brave to put up with my persona. Lol! I know LifeFight is unlike any other podcast out there, and hosted by a person unlike any other person possibly on the planet! So congratulations for keeping up with me! Attack Back is the name of this LifeFight episode because I am proud to state that we cover not only some ideas on how you (and your loved one) can become a weapon to make an attack back on anyone who attacks you, but we also give a story regarding someone who fought back...on a boat! Have you ever thought about the FACT that you are a target when you are on vacation? Now why would someone want to pick on you while you’re on vacation in a foreign area, relaxing and trying to relieve some stress? Well, that’s exactly why! Because criminals KNOW that you are in an unfamiliar area, and most of all you are trying to relax which means you are probably being very unaware! Well in this LifeFight episode of Attack Back Rebekah and I will cover some of the training that we placed a teenage couple through as they prepare for their vacation to LA. Their mom and dad kept their kid’s safety in mind along with their college fund, and demanded that they come to me to get programmed to be bad @sses before stepping onto the streets and beaches of LA. Now they are locked, loaded and ready to have a safe and thrilling time! Can one learn self-defense in a short period of time or does one have to spend years and years training before they can be effective. Believe it or not, under the proper trainer one can learn to defend his or herself quicker than an amateur or professional fighter can be prepared to enter the ring for competition. The reason behind is because self-defense techniques are more effective and dangerous than competition techniques. Everything that’s banned in competition is what’s used in self-defense. In Attack Back I will give away some of the secrets to my training methods for self-defense such as changing the terrain on my clients; training them to Attack Back in their vehicle; and the shock training that I place their brain through so they’re prepared to not freeze up if they’re surprised and/or afraid. Home invaders posing as police officers!? How in the heck would you deal with a knock on the door at night from two people who are posing as police officers? This really happened to someone and the culprits were so cruel that they tazed a 4 month old baby! How should you handle a situation like this to assure that you don’t let ruthless criminals into your home when you think you’re simply obeying the law? On Attack Back, I give some tips on how to handle a middle of the night knock on the door from someone who is claiming to be law enforcement. “Even though I am the teacher, it is those whom I teach who teach me.” Lol! Why do I laugh at this statement? Because if you listen to this podcast you will hear of a situation where Rebekah, and I discover that I (Jermaine Andre’) placed myself in the same dangerous position that we are ridiculing on the podcast. This only proves that we all make mistakes. Reviews! Reviews! Reviews! Rebekah takes some time to read a couple of reviews on Attack Back. Remember that we are ALWAYS seeking reviews, questions, comments, ideas etc… We’d love to spend our time on LifeFight answering your questions and responding to your comments. One person gave a review regarding how “deadly” he felt I was as a martial artist. Wait until you hear my response on that one! Enjoy listening to Attack Back and please give us some reviews on I-tunes & Stitcher! We’d also appreciate your questions on our LifeFight Facebook page and DO NOT forget to go to Attack-Back.com to get some FREE self-defense training directly from me. Thanks for listening always! Life Fight - Show 011 - Natural Born Killers Can exercising be bad and even deadly to our health? Of course we know that it’s possible to injure our self during a workout but sometimes there can be even a bigger danger than a dropped weight on a toe or a strained muscle. And that danger that could be lurking around a corner is a human being. Several women have already been attacked this year while out on an inspiring run. And why would we ever doubt that an attack could happen while we’re out in skimpy clothing, wearing ourselves out to a point of exhaustion. This is a perfect time for an attacker to catch us in a secluded park area while we’re breathless, and launch his attack. This is why it is important for you to listen to the preparedness, awareness and self-defense tips for running outside that I mention in this podcast. There are many things that can affect your safety when you choose to take your workout into the streets or woods of the world. I’ll help you to think of these potential pitfalls from footwear, your route, construction hazards, headphones, maintaining fight fuel and more. Getting to the meat of this LifeFight segment, I named this podcast “Natural Born Killers” not only to get your attention, but to remind us all of our capabilities when we have to defend ourselves against an attack. The biggest concern in self-defense situations isn’t what kind of techniques a person uses or if the techniques even work. The first and main concern is if the person who is being attacked is even going to choose to fight back. Do you know that the biggest question and statement that I get in self-defense workshop are, “When do I have the right to defend myself?” and “I’m afraid that I may get scared and freeze if someone attacks me.” Well these are all general concerns and honestly the people who ask these questions are being more real about self-defense, than the one who thinks he or she is going to turn into Jason Stathom when confronted with a knife wielding attacker. In Natural Born Killers, I reveal how we have been “deprogrammed” by our society from our natural mentality as fighters to meek individuals. I feel that we must always go back to the beginning of where we come from when we get lost on the path of where we are going. And if we feel afraid to fight back during an attack… we are definitely lost on our path. Cavemen, the Roman era, the Wild West, our youth days! What do these all have in common? Proof that mankind was designed to fight back! Even though we’re now civilized and shooting it out as a cowboy and/or Indian is preposterous to consider while we have indoor plumbing, we never thought that as children. MOST of us would readily fight back as a child as soon as the bully in pre-school took our toy. That was until we had our hand smacked by the oversized adult who also reminded us that if we fought back the smacking would be worse. As we grew older the intimidation of “fighting back” grew stronger with threats from authority to be suspended from school or the imprisonment and even destruction our body if we chose to “fight back” instead of allowing them to handle our problems for us. This programming whether we believe it or not has a subconscious affect on our “standing up for our self”. The biggest problem that being afraid to defend our self causes is fear. Once we realize from watching the local news or an attack on someone who is close to us that we can be attacked, we become afraid. And this is not good because fear brings bad responses. Bad responses like prejudice, misdirection of anger, and paranoia just to name a few. This then causes separation in families, friends and us all as Americans. Then we begin to rebel against each other while everyone goes out to buy a new shiny gun to shoot their neighbor with. We all have the potential to defend ourselves and immediately destroy an attacker who was seeking a weak victim, but we first have to admit that we are Natural Born Killers who are only suppressing our instinct to fight back. This podcast will help you to creep through your mind like a Ninja, and untangle some of the ropes that have your conscious bound to become the next victim. Listen to “Natural Born Killers” to learn about who we once were, so you can readily protect who you are now. And remember that we are on I-tunes and Stitcher now so please leave us a review and tell your friends to check out LifeFight. Thanks! Segment #10: Building Jermaine Andre’/Build a better you II The best way that I can advise you to build yourself is to inform you about what it took for me to build myself. Most Mixed Martial Artists want to be well rounded in the Martial Arts assuring that they have striking, takedown and grappling skills for the cage. Well I wanted to assure that I wasn’t only well rounded for the cage and ring. I wanted to be well rounded for life! Therefore, my training differed from the training of the other MMA and Muay Thai world class combatants. As a world class competitive MMA fighter and Muay Thai fighter, what would you think my training consisted of? Muay Thai? Judo? Russian Sambo? Jiu Jitsu? Well it was those most of the time, but there was something more important in my life than simply winning in the cage or ring. And that was the safety of my family and self. Therefore I was always sure to implement the self-defense training of Karate’ and Kung Fu eye flicks, palm strikes, throat attacks and groin crushes in my arsenal. Especially since my side job was bodyguarding and bouncing. Weapons were also a strict part of my training regimen. How can a Samurai Katana be used for ring and cage Martial Arts combat? You’d be surprised at how the daily dangerous swinging of a razor sharp blade provided me with the calmness, and focus to dominate my opponents in the cage, and to outclass my subjects while bodyguarding and bouncing. The power of the Samurai surrounded me during ceremony with my sword, and this energy carried over into competition hence, the reason for my calmness and explosiveness in the arena. Listen to me explain how I used the ideology of the Samurai attitude to be remain superior to my opponents during combat. Deep within my everyday training I was well versed with my pocket knife in attacks and defense. The potential of the pocket knife is very underestimated as well as its ease of carry, and the fact of whom may be carrying one. Boy Scouts carry pocket knives as well as everyday workers. This means we are always surrounded by someone who can cut us if they get angry. I made it imperative that I was always ready to defend against a knife attack or use mine for self-defense. Not to mention that a pocket knife comes in handy for everyday tasks even more than personal protection. How is your recovery after working out? Recovery is neglected by many in the aspect of either too much or not enough. For the body to grow, get stronger, and heal there has to be plenty of rest. My recovery was so well scheduled that is was like clockwork! Without an alarm clock which I NEVER used. Recovery is so important that I even designed my martial arts school to “force” my students to take time off. And one of the most important elements in recovery is the mind. A tired mind can’t send the correct signals to properly heal the body. Personal hygiene was a strong standard in my training regimen. I showered before and after training to assure disease control and more importantly not to offend those who trained beside me. The first rule of self-defense is not to be offensive. Bad odor offends. I even poured alcohol into my bath water regularly to aid in my personal cleanliness. One never wants to be known as the smelly person in the gym or the carrier of disease. Another important element to include in your workouts was the pleasure of a massage. A massage relaxes the mind and body while pushing all of the bad toxins out of the muscles. This aids in healing and injury reduction. It also feels awesome! I hope what I’ve done to build myself can aid you in building yourself . Listen to part II of Building Jermaine Andre’ so you can get a solid format on how to be well rounded in your workouts and in your LifeFight. Segment #009: Building Jermaine Andre’ part 1 Buy this vitamin and you’ll this! Drink this shake and you’ll that! Swallow this pill and you’ll look like the model in this picture! Do this workout and you’ll feel like her! Learn this martial art and you’ll have confidence like him! Carry this weapon and you’ll never be afraid! Every day we are all swarmed by sales pitches to pull us into buying something related to fitness, muscle building, stress relief, self-defense etc… that promise to make us a better person AFTER we buy their idea. But to me there’s one problem and that’s what’s called, TRUE PROOF! No matter how many lab geeks speak on a product or paid models scream about a routine, this still proves nothing about the true effectiveness of what they are professing. This is why all of the shiny colors, loud music, bells, whistles and more are added to distract you from the fact that nothing has been actually proven to you in their 30-60 second commercial or 30 minute infomercial. As awesome as this may be for their sales, this does you absolutely no good as you get yanked around the supplement store by which bottles and boxes have the best looking labels. This is why I found it necessary to make this LifeFight podcast about, Building Jermaine Andre’. For over 20 years I have been involved in the world of bodybuilding, martial arts, weight lifting and self-defense. I have been testing food plans, supplements, vitamins, routines and techniques since before most of them were invented. And honestly, I am one of the people who created many of the effective ones. What is it like to be a vegetarian and a high performance athlete? What is it like to be a raw meat eater and an athlete? Does weight lifting hinder the flexibility of a professional world class fighter or help him? Is it better to go all natural or to load your body up with pre-workout drinks, proteins, creatins and more? Are there addictive supplements out there that you can take that are just ½ a step away from snorting a line of meth or cocain before working out? I give you these answers in this podcast, Building Jermaine Andre’. Everything that the new scientist are trying to discover regarding the mixing of weight lifting for power, bodybuilding, maintaining flexibility, enhancing speed, mixing the right doses of the right products to improve abilities, discovering the right amount of rest time, building explosiveness, peaking at the right moment etc… I figured out years ago and PROVED my claims with my accomplishments in the ring and cage. Not to mention my health at the age of 42 at which I can run over 3 miles, bench press over 405lbs, kick a 6ft 3 man square in the forehead, jump four feet from the ground and land in a Dive Roll, train with my professional fighters and I haven’t had a simple cold or flu symptom or been to a doctor in over 20 years. I believe that we all have the ability to get to know ourself better than any scientist or doctor ever could by simply listening to and reading the response of our body to what we put it through. I learned through my experience that the best way for me to use supplements was to ½ dose everything that the bottle recommended, and to stay away from anything that made me feel “too good” because, it was a trick that I would pay for later during performance times. If you are an athlete, everyday fitness enthusiast, or just trying to get in shape, allow me to guide you past all of the bells and whistles that are designed to suck you in by people who are only trying to get your dollar. Listen to Building Jermaine Andre’ so you can get an idea on how to build yourself. Their test facility is a lab with tubes and microscopes. MY lab, is the arena, the streets, my everyday walk of life, what I’ve accomplished and what I look like today! I hope this segment gives you more knowledge to seize control of your personal fitness in your LifeFight. Jermaine Andre’…

Segment #008: My Martial Arts Movie Heroes Waaaataaaaaah! Hello! If you’re an old Bruce Lee fan you might have guessed what I was referencing at when you read the first line of this letter. If not, you’re probably wondering what the #ell is wrong with me. Lol! The controversial war will go on regarding the responsibility of the influence of television and movies, and the characters portrayed upon them. The world of acting was originally created to mimic real life but it now seems the tables have turned and real life is trying to mimic what is seen on reality show, movies and sitcoms. And the controversy fires up because it seems that the only things that are being mimicked are the rude, selfish, and sometimes even violent acts. I am a person who believes that we are educated by what we see, hear, smell and feel regardless of if it is displayed in front of us as a real act, on stage or on a television screen. And I speak this from experience. My mind and even spirit was programmed by the things and characters that I saw on the martial arts fighting screen. I picked up on not only the talented moves that they displayed but the codes of loyalty and honor that they posed. I picked up on these codes so much that my loyalty and dedication to my friends sometimes landed me in dangerous positions. Can you believe that my fighting spirit to never give up, code of honor to stand and fight for the weak, pride of being a man, discipline to be beautiful with my martial arts skill, patience not to be desperate was encouraged by my martial arts movie heroes? As awkward as it may seem, it’s true. I was even taught by a martial arts movie that I don’t have to always fight everyone who challenges me. Watching Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris Jim Kelly, and many others battle against evil helped to secure my foundation in the martial arts world. There was even a time in one of my MMA fights that my mind drifted off into my pretending that I was one of my Martial Art Movie heroes as I went for the knock out! So take a listen to “My Martial Arts Movie Heroes” and see the things that I took from martial arts movies other than entertainment. These types of movies have more to offer than just fun and maybe this talk will aid you in seeing what I think are some of the secret messages that writers place deep within their movies with hopes of discovery. Segment #007: The C.U.R.E. Is society sick? Are our values sick? Is the way that we treat each other sick? Sick is defined as unwell; bad; not a hundred percent. Do you feel that the community and the people within it could use some repairing? Do you feel that YOU could use some repairing? The riots in Ferguson MO and now in Baltimore have brought a rude awakening to all Americans regarding how we are getting along as brothers and sisters. Even though these horrible occurrences represent less than 1% of Americans it seems to be drawing about 99% of everyone’s attention, while setting the tone of what we all think about each other even if we live hundreds of miles from the areas of concern. Well, whether we live 100s of miles away from the area shouldn’t matter when we see our neighbors going through confusions and difficulties such as these. We should take the pains and struggles of our countrymen to heart even if it has no immediate and direct affect on us. Shamefully, some who don’t live within the areas of Ferguson and Baltimore have taken an interest in the burning, looting and assaults but only through social media insults to either forward their own agendas of hate or, to brag about how they would handle a situation that at the moment poses no threat to them. This is not what I mean by getting involved. Through the traveling of many paths in life I have found what I feel is the main igniter of bad occurrences between humans in today’s society. Communication. When our communication fails, we fail. It is whenever a person or a group of people feel that they can’t get a fair shake at communication that they seek other alternatives beside the form of communication that has been approved. It is then that force is issued as communication to them that their form of communication will not be tolerated. This leads to an explosion that can spread worldwide. And even when it appears to be put out, it can rekindle later. I have learned that we sometimes have to travel the wrong paths to get the right answers and I have had some of these adventures. However, what I have gained from traveling many paths is an insight and an ability to understand and communicate with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ideas. I was even fortuned to harness the power to convince people of opposite values to communicate sensibly with one another. I feel that society is sick in one of its most important areas and that area is in how we treat one another. This is where our problems begin and end and this is how I came up with a C.U.R.E. to aid us in bettering the way that we treat one another. My C.U.R.E. stands for Compassion, Understanding, Respect & Education. These are the values that I implement anytime that I meet someone, and I have learned that it allows me to communicate in a more positive fashion with them. It also breaks any ice and allows them to communicate comfortably with me. Please take the time to listen to my C.U.R.E.. You will be surprised at how quickly and easily you can distribute it out to everyone that you know and meet. Because the C.U.R.E. is easy and already inside of us all. Sincerely, Jermaine Andre’ Segment #007: The C.U.R.E.…

Did you know that the way a police officer or security agent dresses is considered a Use of Force? Yes! This is true! The announcement that his attire makes creates an emotion in the free citizens that see him so this is a Use of Force. An officer in tactical riot gear with a nightstick, shotgun, and dog is using a stronger “presence” of force than the officer directing traffic in a button up shirt, slacks and soft soled shoes. Even the use of a police siren and lights is a Use of Force. COPS! SECURITY! BOUNCER! BODYGUARD!… What emotions did these words cause in you? Do you feel fear & intimidation or comfort and safety? What are your thoughts on the position of authority figures and their Use of Force with citizens today? Is it an officer’s job to control American citizens like military officers controlling foreigners in a foreign country? Is it their job to direct American citizens like a daycare worker directing children? Or, is it their job to respect American citizens as their brothers of this land? What way would you like to see law enforcement, security and bouncers use force towards free American citizens? When it comes to bouncers, venue owners hire bigger bullies to bully the bullies in their venue. Even though this may seem to be a good temporary fix it usually backfires leading to the loss of good customers, unnecessary injuries, lawsuits and sometimes even deaths. There are even moments when the overzealous and untrained bouncer gets into disagreements with the owner and physically turns on him. Most bouncers today have no idea of what Use of Force even means and receive no type of proper guidance or training before being plunged into the job of protecting humans who are congested in a confined area while inebriated. Where you initially trained to perform the job that is your career today or, were you just thrown into your duties? No person can perform a job correctly without proper training but this is a norm for bouncers and many security officers who are expected to control uncontrollable patrons where a proper Use of Force is important. When it’s time to sub-due or restrain an out of line patron, what tested and approved sub-dueing technique is going to be used? When a bouncer or security personnel has to defend his or herself against a team of upset, drunken college wrestlers, what self-defense strategies will they implement? Believe it or not but MOST bouncers and security personnel couldn’t answer this question with a sensible, non tough guy answer. Police work has existed and helped to keep America safe for many years. However, during its term of operation it has been accused by many citizens to have been used neglectfully to intimidate, oppress, abuse and even kill citizens. Today uproar is spreading across the U.S. in regards to police officers abusing their authority and over reacting towards citizens with extreme Use of Force? Are today’s police undertrained, over worked and no longer respected? Or have citizens lost their sense of care towards their protectors, converting them into abandoned trained dogs who can find comfort only in looking out for themselves and each other? As a retired bouncer & bodyguard I have personally been in numerous life and death situations that would have left me and many others dead or seriously injured if I had not been trained properly. My proper Use of Force, restraining techniques, self-defense tactics and even sense of humor have turned lethal incidents into child’s play most of the time allowing all parties involved to walk away uninjured and with no plans of later retaliation. Training is key to a proper Use of Force! The Bouncer… The Security Guard! The Police Officer can all be better servants when they are trained to be calm under pressure and explosive when needed. But as we citizens make our judgments on the Use of Force of police officers, bouncers and security guards we need to keep two questions in mind. #1. Do we want police officers to feel as if they have to use unnecessary force on unarmed citizens? #2. Do we want police officers afraid to use deadly force on criminals who need to be handled in that manner? Well the way that we respond to and treat them can have a powerful affect on the way that our figures of authority treat criminals and us. Listen to this LifeFight segment, Use of Force so I can take you into what a bouncer, security agent and/or police officer has to experience on a daily basis. Gain an idea of what they experience and even hear stories regarding the treatment that I have received from police officers during my younger years. In this segment I will dissect the training that I provide for bouncers, security and police, and how it can help to solve some of today's disputes between authority and citizens. The position of any authority figure in America is that of a servant to the people. Use of Force will educate you so you will have a better understanding of what should be expected of our authority figures, and would should be expected of us towards them. Because a society that is against its own protectors is a society destined for doom. YOU and I are the first and last step in assuring that we keep our country strong and righteous. Segment #5: MMA vs Sport MMA To most, the letters MMA bring the thought of two aggressive individuals inside of a cage pounding, pushing, pulling and twisting on each other until one surrenders or is knocked into unconsciousness. But is this the true foundation and heart of MMA? Is there more to MMA or is head busting it? I’m here to inform you that there is more to MMA than just fighting. As a matter of a fact, I’m here to inform you that competition fighting is the smallest element of MMA. I’ve always been a firm believer that the most important use of any combat fighting style or martial art is for self-defense. Then comes personal development, competition then fun. Sport MMA (MMA competitive fighting) has led many to believe that you have to be a superior athlete, young or even psycho to participate in mixed martial arts. The excitement of the competitive fights and MMA’s quick movement up the ladder of the martial arts world has left only a shadow of what MMA is truly about. When MMA competition exploded I had to take the name MMA out of my Mixed Martial Arts Academy name. Why? You ask. Because the promotion of MMA competition had citizens convinced that MMA training was only aggressive individuals whose main interest was to beat up and hurt anyone who walked through the door. And shamefully, many MMA gyms took on this image while dumping the old school traditions of discipline, honor, calmness, skill, loyalty and technique like one may associate with the words, Martial Arts, Muay Thai, Tai Chi, Karate, Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do, etc… There is a grave difference between Sport MMA (cage fighting) and actual MMA (mixed martial arts). But which is “better”? Which is more practical? Which is easier to learn? Which is more popular? Which one was actually first? Which one is most dangerous! You’ll be surprised at my answers when you listen to this podcast as I put Sport MMA and MMA on the arena floor against each other. As a practitioner and champion at both, I can see the difference between the two and what they can offer the everyday person, and the fighter. The gifts of MMA from a great teacher can fortune the practitioner with incredible feats inside of a competition arena and more importantly in life. But before you can decide to train in MMA or NOT to train in MMA, you must understand what they both can offer you. There’s more to the martial arts than punching and kicking and these certain elements can affect your training and development more than how hard and fast you can hit. Please enjoy listening to the battle of MMA vs Sport MMA and I promise you will know more about the mixed martial arts than those who don’t listen. If you happen to be someone who doesn’t practice MMA, listening to this may convince you differently. And if you are a practitioner of MMA, this segment will open more doors of understanding to your learning. Are you ready to jump up and immediately defend yourself and your family when something goes bump in the night? Burglaries, robberies and home invasions are a topic that we don’t like to think of or even prepare for because, we like to feel safe and comfortable when we’re at home. We all want our home to be a place of comfortableness and happiness not a military bunker surrounded by barricades placed because, we constantly think our neighbor or some stranger may break in. This segment of LifeFight is about Home Invasion. Home Invasion is a crime that can strike in ANY neighborhood. And if you know me and have listened to my tips on self-defense, you will know that attacks happen in places of seclusion and usually to people who are alone. Sadly, our home can operate as an attack area if we don’t secure it properly during the night and even daytime hours. The basis of my “Home Invasion” is in regards to a little girl who was kidnapped from her home by a neighbor who the family knew. This happened in what is considered a very safe neighborhood in O’Fallon MO. It was alleged that the kidnapper planned to murder the 10 year old girl whom he had been obsessing over and stalking for a while. The kidnapper was a teenage boy who allegedly got his ideas from a book that he was reading. My co-host Rebekah Beck reads through the report of this kidnapping incident as I break down what the family could have done to avoid a situation such as this. From reading the behavior of the kidnapper who was already known to the family; to reading the message sent by the dogs, and even how they could have responded when the mother saw the kidnapper running through the yard with her child. How can you protect yourself from a Home Invasion? A start is to do a simple search and lock-up every night. How can you identify if you’re a possible target? A safeguard can be assuring that you know the family members of those who you allow into your home. Do you live in a home that is difficult for you to secure during the night hours? If you can’t take the time to lock your home down at night to protect yourself, and family maybe your home is too big and you should hire a security person. Would you like more tips and thoughts on how to secure your home, and read people who may be a potential threat? Your home is YOUR HOME! You should never feel unsafe or allow someone to enter your home and rule you and your family! In this segment, “Home Invasion”, I will give you tips on how to assure your home is secure when you lay your head down at night. I will also spoon feed you the information to put your mind in mode to make any invader an immediate victim! Thanks for listening to LifeFight and please remember to leave your thoughts regarding any segment on my Facebook page. I love all kinds of feedback especially if you disagree with me. Lol! It’s up to us all to work together to dissect thoughts and views so we can hopefully reach the right answers for us all in our LifeFight! Sincerely , Jermaine Andre’…

Now things are starting to get REAL serious with me because the topic of this LifeFight segment is self-defense. The reason that this is more serious is because now I am speaking in regards to you defending your life and/or the life of someone that you care for. And as drastic and imperative a topic as this sounds in this letter, most today pay it little attention. Self-defense is something that you may or may never have to use in your life. However, it must be understood that if you do ever have to use it, your life may depend on it. Thus, it is probably a good idea to be very well trained in defending yourself. Self-defense isn’t as difficult or life altering as most think. Excuses are mustered up every day to avoid the task of finding a good self-defense instructor and attending his or her facility for a day of life saving lessons. Sometimes these lessons will take less time and money that it takes to shop for a pair of shoes. The most powerful element of self-defense is awareness. Basic awareness can eliminate your chance of being attacked to 1%. Attacks are planned in certain areas and executed upon certain types of people. This “Defend Yourself!” segment of LifeFight will verse you with the knowledge to predict when someone is planning to make a move on you! Believe it or not there is something that many fear in regards to self-defense over the attacker! That fear is of THE LAW! Numerous innocent people are confused on when they can legally defend themselves! Are you confused on this too? This can be a difficult thought when fear begins to creep under our skin because fear can convince us to respond before we should and/or to overreact when we response. I go in depth with an explanation on when it is appropriate for you to turn it on and issue an old school John Wayne on a perp! Self-defense doesn’t always mean that you have to develop the fighting skills of an MMA, Boxing or Kickboxing great. Some of the best self-defense lies within self-defense tools like, Pepper Spray, Kubatons, Batons, and even firearms. However, there still has to be proper mental training to use a defense too properly. You’d actually be surprised at which self-defense tool is my favorite. It’s one that I have used repeatedly during bodyguard and security situations on some of the toughest gangbangers and bikers on the planet! Be sure to find some time to listen to ‘Defend Yourself” so you can put yourself and your loved one’s a step ahead of those who are out there waiting to make you a victim. Because your protection lies within what you know to Defend Yourself. Sincerely, Jermaine Andre’ Life Fight - Show 003 - Self Defending…

LifeFight w/ Jermaine Andre
Why do I think we need to “befriend” fear you may ask. My answer is because fear is an emotion that has a great impact upon our lives. It can control and guide a lot of our decision making and it will always exist within our life. And when there is something that exists within our life, we must learn to cope and find comfort within it. Regardless of how imperative fear is within our lives, there are no lessons taught in school or even the home on how to deal with properly deal with fear or manage our self when we are afraid. When you think about how unexplored dealing with fear is and how shallow the lessons are on how to handle it, one has to think that may there’s someone out there who wants us to be afraid. Could this be true? Are we better as a whole or maybe even easier to control when we’re afraid? Can it be bad for us not to be afraid? Believe that I am going to dissect the *#%! out of these questions. We all have fears and I admit to a couple of mines’ on my Befriending Fear segment. I also tell the story of my battle against a long legged bug with a pointy sticker at the end of his face. Learn how I used my Samurai Sword and the way of the Samurai to settle our differences as he trespassed on my Martial Arts Academy property! We respond inappropriately when we’re afraid. We scream, run away, hit, shut down, hide and more. On Befriending Fear I show how we take our self to a whole new playing ground when we learn to control our self when we are afraid. New options present themselves as our mind fills our body with super human powers because we are afraid. During my fight career I used the powers of fear to fuel me through my fights. I even meditated on fear to assure that I was best buddies with it when it appeared. This actually gave me an advantage over my brother competitors because it placed me at a weird step ahead of them. It allowed me the power to drag them into a realm that they weren’t familiar with. And the funny part of it is that I actually allowed them to drag ME into it. And when we got there…they were lost and I knew exactly where I was thanks to my friendship with fear. I hope “Befriending Fear” fortunes you with information that will allow you similar advantages in your LifeFight. Have fun listening! Sincerely, Jermaine Life Fight - Show 002 - Befriend Your Fear…
My first LifeFight segment, “Who am I?” is an intro of who I am which leads into helping you to discover who you are. I go into my credentials and accomplishments which most importantly gives you a reason on, “Why you should even listen to me!” Lol! I will discuss a little regarding my martial arts training and world traveled fight career. Listen to my story regarding when I traveled to represent Team USA vs Hawaii and how the barbed wire fence or cage was actually put around the ring to keep the audience out! Many ask what it is that I do now as a retired fighter. Do I teach martial arts? Do I teach fighting? Do I teach self-defense? Do I teach fitness? My answer is that I teach my clients, members and students to master themselves. And the first part of us mastering ourselves is to be honest with our self. And this can be one of the most difficult tasks in the world simply because being honest with our self can work against us if we’re not careful. Listen to “Who am I?” to get some thoughts on how to productively be honest with yourself. Training others in the martial arts today is very risky. It is risky because of several reasons: #1. Modern day people don’t like to be told what to. #2. Modern day people pay for what they want and demand it immediately. #3. Modern day people are used to leaving when a situation becomes something that they don’t like. In “Who am I?” I will explain how these qualities in the modern day person are counterproductive to ever learning true martial arts. I even explain why kids are easier to turn into exceptional martial artists, than adults. Please take the time to listen to LifeFight segment, “Who Am I” when you have a chance. I feel that it can benefit in making you stronger as you continue your fight within your life. Remember that I am not here to tell you what to think, I’m here to encourage you to think.
