Adoptive moms often find themselves in challenging situations, especially when it comes to managing defiant, disrespectful, and sometimes dangerous behaviors in their adopted teenagers. Traditional approaches lean heavily towards an accountability lens, believing that enforcing consequences for misbehavior will bring positive change. But this method, though seemingly logical, can actually escalate tensions further.
