In Season Two of her true crime series, The God Hook, journalist Carol Costello investigates the complex case of the Ohio Craigslist Killings—and in doing so, unearths the untold story of the crimes that preceded the murders—and the victims who’ve never received justice. Richard Beasley was convicted of murdering three men and attempting to kill a fourth in the fall of 2011, but before that heinous spree, authorities were building a human trafficking case against him. Now, working with the case's prosecutor, a county sheriff, and many closely involved sources, Carol examines previously unknown details of Beasley’s alleged crimes, and how he used the God Hook to lure his victims and bend them to his will. In Season One of this podcast, Blind Rage, journalist Carol Costello revisits the first big assignment she covered as a 22-year-old, novice reporter: Phyllis Cottles’ brutal attack. Psychologists call them “Triumphant Survivors,” but Phyllis Cottle was more than a survivor, she used this crime to better herself and the world around her. What if becoming a Christian isn't supposed to make your life better? What if becoming a Christ follower is supposed to change more than your Sunday morning schedule?
Easter Sunday is a time to rejoice that Jesus defeated sin, death, and suffering so we could be called children of God. From the beginning of Scripture, God’s plan was that Jesus would die to reconcile his people back to him. Not only that, but the person and work of Jesus fulfilled over 300 Old Testament prophecies, culminating in the one thing that changes everything: his resurrection. As we explore Jesus' third post-resurrection appearance in John 21, we invite you to join us in remembering this: Because of the resurrection, you can find true joy in following Jesus, no matter where you are in life.…
What if the resurrection wasn’t just something to remember once a year… but something to refocus your entire life around? In this Easter message, we take a fresh look at the moment that brings everything into clarity—past, present, and future. Join us in exploring how the resurrection of Jesus can become the focal point that transforms the way you see your story—and where it’s headed.…
Jesus doesn’t come as the king we expect. He comes as the king we need. He enters in humility, disrupts our kingdoms, and heads to the cross to establish a kingdom that conquers sin and outlasts Rome.
Every believer has a vital role in the Body of Christ. This sermon explores how God calls and equips each of us to serve, bringing unity and strength to His Church. Discover your place and step into your purpose!
In this message from Exodus 17, we watch the Israelites—though they’ve seen God come through countless times—complain when life becomes uncomfortable. Listen as Dr. Dustin shares everyday insights (including winters in Connecticut!) to show how often we focus on the provision instead of the Provider, forgetting God’s proven track record. Ultimately, we’ll see proper rest and confidence come when we trust God’s ways, even in our desert moments.…
Jesus' parable in Luke 19:11-27 challenges us to consider how we're using what God has given us. Are we being faithful stewards of our time, talents, and treasures? When the Master returns, will we be ready to give an account? Join us for an inspiring message on how to live with purpose, serve with passion, and prepare for the moment we hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant."…
We are never to approach the Lord’s Table lightly, casually, or inappropriately. The Lord’s Table is to be approached reverently and discreetly. The Communion table represents a holy and sacred time in the Lord’s presence. The Lord's Supper replaced the Passover Meal. Jesus was modeling a paradigm shift from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant. From the Old Testament to the New Testament. From the Temple to the Church. From Priests to Preachers. In the Old Testament the sheep died for the shepherd. In the New Testament the Shepherd dies for the sheep. The communion table reminds us to look back at the cross and look forward to the future glory in heaven.…
The World today is struggling with three fundamental pillars. They are monumental and systemic issues within the culture and the nation today. Everything you live, breathe, and believe rest upon these great pillars. The message from the culture and the media is, “do not believe what your lying eyes are seeing.” The pressing question of the hour is what the Lord has to say about what we are hearing, seeing, and experiencing within the devolution of the nation.…
The Bible has many portraits of God, ways we can understand who he is and how he relates to us. One of the most beautiful is what we will explore today, he is our “Chief Shepherd.”
We all pray for things, don’t we? We ask God to answer, to respond, to “move mountains” that are beyond our ability to overcome. And all throughout the Bible we find promises that God LOVES to help his people in time of need by answering their heartfelt prayers. So what do we do with the fact some prayers don’t seem to be answered, or the answer is a long time in coming, or the answer is “no” and we don’t understand why? What do we do ... when the mountain DOESN’T move?…
Colossians 1:15-23 is famously tabbed the “Hymn of Christ” and is perhaps the most comprehensive passage of Scripture that talks directly about who Christ is (Christology). Paul explains how Christ is Lord over all creation, His church, and even the redemption story. Paul reminds the church that the Lordship of Christ deserves our deepest adoration and devotion. The question of what the people of God will prioritize is of essential value to Paul within this passage. So for the reader today, Is Christ preeminent, prominent, popular, or pushed aside in your life? Without Christ nothing else matters and Christ must be the preeminent priority in every area of our lives.…
Worldview perspectives shape how we approach people with the Gospel, how they hear it and most significantly how they will respond to it. While the Gospel message must never be subdued, the Apostle Paul demonstrates in Acts 17 the need to maintain a “dynamic approach” to communicating biblical truth and a biblical worldview. At some time, God invaded your world with the Truth – it’s our responsibility to bridge the gap between worldviews, that by God’s grace others may know it too.…
