Jordan Neely was killed by Daniel Penny preemptively because Penny believed he posed a credible threat to himself and those around him. If Penny is applauded for his "bravery" why isn't Luigi Mangione, the man being charged with the murder of the United Healthcare CEO, Brian Thompson? Thompson and the other United States health insurance companies have denied their own paying customers care simply to maximize profits and by doing so, caused countless deaths. We as a society need to take back EVERYTHING that these companies have stolen and we need to do it starting NOW!…
The killing of Jordan Neely was both unnecessary and criminal and the killer, Daniel Penny, should not have been set free. All of the circumstances around the incident, if shown correctly and without prejudice or superfluous information, should have landed Penny in prison. Instead, he was given a photo op with the President-Elect and regarded as a "hero".…
When will it end? Never, unless we, as the working class decide to stand up and end it. Growing up, teachers and authority figures have always spouted off that same old line, "violence is NEVER the answer", but history has proven that false, time and time again. Every act that has led to LASTING change involved violence of some kind. the Tulsa Massacre WWI/WWII 9/11 March of Tears Revolutionary/Civil Wars The list goes on and on. The bourgeoisie have shown the proletariat time and time again that they have no desire to help us, so we need to help ourselves, but one question needs to be answered. What are you willing to lose in order for you to be free? I'm willing to risk it all because I have nothing else to lose.…
News outlets in the United States don't tell us what to think, but they do tell us what to think about. This can be dangerous as we navigate our own world, blocking out things that make us uncomfortable. That comfort bubble we put ourselves in can be delightful, but it can lead us to the wrong conclusions on very serious topics/opinions. Do yourselves a favor and burst your own bubble. Make yourselves uncomfortable by listening to the opinions you don't agree with, not to change your mind, but to understand the other person's position. This world is on fire, folks. We don't have the luxury of putting our heads in the sand and ignoring that reality, simply because you don't agree.…
After finding out Thanksgiving was nothing more than a myth, I really didn't feel the need or want to celebrate it anymore. As a child, it felt like a dream. As a teen, it felt like a chore. Now, as an orphan with weak familial ties, it is very much inconsequential. However, I do believe that all the people in our lives that mean so much to us need to be acknowledged for how much they mean to us and deserve a day to be celebrated. Enter Friendsgiving. The best friends holiday!…
Sometimes the worst things in our lives can be the depression, cl oud that consumes our happiness. We cannot allow ourselves to be the catalyst for hate simply because we are unhappy with who we are as individuals. We must learn that sometimes things need to be changed in order for real change to occur. Will you be strong enough to change the things within yourself that make you want to hurt other people?…
Y'all, what Colorado is doing to former President Trump is both petty and irresponsible. These types of moves are going to have very far reaching consequences that I personally don't believe have been seriously considered. These state and federal government entities are playing a very stupid game in our faces and in the end, who ends up losing? Regular folks like you and me. What has happened to us?…
Hear me talk about my day. If you enjoyed the background music, it's the instrumental version of Lana Del Rey's 'Salvatore' from her amazing 'Honeymoon' album. One of my favorite songs from her and definitely my favorite song on the album.
The gay community still has a lot to learn regarding the stigma around HIV. Most of us are not whores, but broken people who made terrible decisions at dark moments in their lives. We shouldn't be punished for that. Living with HIV is punishment enough.
In the United States, if you don't have health insurance, you could be in for a world of hurt. Add to the fact that most companies don't want to pay you a livable wage and you're going to be in some deep trouble.
When it comes to the west (America) we put out that we are more self-aware and capable than we really are. Our government is supposed to look out for us but they're more concerned with growing their legacy than looking out for the people who put them into power.
Music is like a language we as humans can all speak together that can open doors and bring us together. Whether it's to dance or cry, music can do wonders for the heart and mind. Songs to check out Turbulence by P!NK Saturday nights by Khalid Talk of the town by Elle King Power of the Dream by Celine Dion Superstar by Luther Vandross Count on Me by Whitney Houston All great songs for very different moods. What have you listened to lately? What could you recommend me?…
Sometimes, the hero you're looking for is staring at you from the mirror.
